Can anyone remember anyone ever creating such obsessions over who he was signing? Is this new or is it just me? How and why is it happening? Every day there's a new thread about a signing...what's it all for?

Yes pick people outside of his cash cows weight class. Question when Ortiz was the WBA mando why didn’t Joshua ever have to fight him after signing with Hearn?!?

I knew what you were getting at and i agree, on that occasion i feel Hearn made his moves and positioned Ortiz out of the way. So what, like thats never been done by a promoter before, but it means any good Cruisers or Heavies that he signs to his company is only being signed to his company so none of them can face Anthony Joshua????? OK. I think you are being a little extreme.

His ambition must surely be to become the No1 HW in the world. Living in the promotional shadow of Joshua will not help him with that goal. 90,000 brain dead Sweet Caroliners aren't gonna shell out to watch him are they? Hearn knows that too....

No it means anyone who’s a threat and I think everyone on this board will agree Usyk has just as good a chance of decisioning AJ as Wilder does of knocking him out.

 True. Ortiz did face a few bums and then didn't get a Joshua title shot.

Who did Povetkin beat to get a shot?

Oh yes, the legendary David Price. Just like David Haye managed to get himself into a mandatory position for the WBO after beating the likes of De Mori and the tesco worker.

Whatever you think of the standards of opponents, the fact is he was positioned as mandatory and was promised by Hearn that if he would be next in line to fight AJ if he waited for him to fight Klitschko.

Ortiz was someone that nobody really cared about. He had no hype, and bought no money to the table. He didn't have much of a fanbase either.

Usyk on the other hand is the complete opposite. His profile is now massive, he just unified the CW division, has a growing (and already big) fanbase and he brings money to the table too.

Eddie won't sign him just to sideline him like he did with Ortiz.

So tell me about the millions of fans of Takum or Pulev who Hearn was more than happy to make happen?

How much money did Takam/Pulev's name bring to the table?

Tell me how many fans care so much about Takum that they are tuning into his twitter, youtube and instagram accounts daily?

The British public don't know who Povetkin is. Johnny Nelson and that little weasel Adam Smith presented them with a full dossier on him.

Same thing with Baby Miller, no one knows who he is yet Hearn was taking flights to the states to reassure him that he will be given the opportunity to fight for Fury's belts.

So don't give me this crap about there was no hype behind Ortiz and did't have any fans. Besides none of that matters when you are positioned as mandatory.

Ortiz had two fights and looked awful in both of them.

    Are you stupid?

You can't avoid mandatories on the basis of their past performances.
