The key issue for me is that Wilder wanted to fight in September but they are only offering April.

We know the povetkin fight was planned a long time ago from when they offered the first ''take it or leave it'' 12 million dollar(8 million for a unification super fight) was offered to Wilder's team.

This is what Hearn said back in April after offering that offer which he knew was insulting.

''If they don’t want it, we’ll fight our mandatory,’’ Hearn told THE RING by telephone on Tuesday morning.

So they had no intention of fighting Wilder in September. The plan was to stall this fight, so they can get the fights with Povetkin, Miller and Whyte and in the meantime, hope that Wilder slows down through wear and tear or gets defeated so Joshua doesn't have to get ko'd.

 

Please never do business or do it with me on the opposite side of the table. If Joshua loses to Povetkin there’s gonna be a rematch first and foremost. 2nd his value would then be less which means wilder would get more money unless he signs right now. Please be that stupid if we ever do a business transaction
