Id be keeping an eye on NSAC,s rule book for last minute amendments. I have a feeling the gauze and bandage combo may carry going round and round AFTER Canelo has put his gloves on.
If I were in Canelo's camp I would 100% be concentrating on making him lighter and faster. Forget the muscles. I'd have him do the same thing as last time (ie - run) except for this time I'd have him rally more often and try to use angles like the Ukrainians do. There's no way this guy can go toe to toe with even old man GGG and win. He needs to up his punch output and trust in the custom judges to deliver the UD.
GG is scared to let his hands go against Canelo, that's why he hardly threw any body shots, GG knows what's coming
Exactly right and if I learnt anything about Golovkin in that fight it’s about how mentally strong the guy is as we now know he suspected Canelo was juicing, arguments about his hand wraps and just the knowledge about Canelos previous fights and said judging. Take all that into consideration and it’s not surprising he looked nervous at the start and less than great for the rest of the fight and yet still given all that the consensus even from pro Canelo channels, media and boxing writers was that Golovkin won fairly convincingly though I had it by a round or two. I have an image in my head from that fight of Canelo backtracking and dancing and doing something with arms that I’ve never seen him do before and like you say Golovkin this time cannot allow him to do that and I don’t think he will as he has since come out and said that he gave Canelo too much respect. Should be a great fight though as Canelo imo was brilliant and showed me more to his game that I thought he had.
Certainly he’s said he showed him too much respect,I can’t disagree and just maybe in the back of his mind knowing this could be a trilogy he didn’t want to risk all and end up on his back as Canelo showed him some beautiful counter punching and showed he could punish him. What do you think this time though,is he likely to show the same respect or do you think he may risk getting knocked out himself this time, kinda like against Brook?
GGG is cashing out here. Had they not paid him 20 million for the rematch I highly doubt GGG would have fought Canelo. I don't even think he would have taken on Canelo had they not paid his 15 million he first time. I won't be the least surprised if Canelo comes in with better conditioning as a result to being much more acclimated to MW and GGG starts getting his organs rearranged again, and getting teed off on and retires on his stool so that he can grab his money and ride into the sunset. 35 million in two fights for a fighter of GGG's drawing caliber is a dream.
100% which is why everyone was surprised first time round when he came in looking like Arnie,I’m positive a lighter, faster Canelo would be far better off as let’s be honest those muscles don’t make him any stronger.
ROFLMAO!! He can guarantee the judges If he's standing after 12 he will NOT be allowed to lose. WE ALL!!! KNOW THAT!!
Lol both us know Golovkin would get knocked out rather than retire on his stool, dead right about better conditioning though as ten percent could be all the difference he needs to press on in those middle rounds.
I think there’s one thing we can all agree on though with these two in that the Ref is hardly needed as neither are into clinching and they are both very clean fighters. I don’t recall ever seeing Canelo foul or fight dirty, given he could win every round by holding I think that says something about the guy as a boxer.
I'm not sure about your first statement. Golovkin hasn't been used to fighting top level opponents. At 36 with his 15 million in his bank account and another possible 20 million this September, I can see Canelo taking his soul away and Golovkin asking why he needs to continue risking his health. Many of the greats have quit in their stools when they were up there in ring age including Ray Robinson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Muhammad Ali etc...
