UFC 227: T.J. Dillashaw vs. Cody Garbrandt II & Demetrious Johnson vs. Henry Cejudo II RBR

Why? TJ would have handled him at 125.

 

You think DJ took him lightly?

 

Would have made more money fighting TJ.

 

He let them get into his head. Was so hell bent on getting the KO.

 

Cody just fought like a straight ******. You'd think after the first fight he'd learn but he didn't. I'm gutted because Cody has so much natural talent. Also a trilogy with TJ would have been great. TJ ended those talks. Cody has a LOT of rebuilding to do. Who knows if he'll ever be the same. But then again it is the UFC and these guys seem to build and get better even after losses.

Cody is my Broner of the ufc lol. I love these guys as talents but they'll always let me down.

 

watching it in slo mo, Cody just wild swinging leaving himself wide open, he has speed and would be better served throwing straight punches and picking shots.

 

He seemed fairly patient in the Cruz fight, and Cruz is feather fisted. He should have brought that patience with him into the cage tonight.

 

Yeah. He was so calm and collected against Cruz. He looked like the more experienced one against Cruz but against TJ he looked like an absolute moron trying to rush him.

 

Whew what a great night of fights.

 

I believe they will do the Cejudo vs DJ trilogy fight next before they do any "Superfights" and I think mighty mouse deserves a rematch as much as anybody does, it would seem DJ cost himself a lot of money losing tonight, because it seemed obvious that him vs Dillashaw was the fight to make and what UFC wanted to do next.

I would love to see Cejudo fight TJ but I think it would be a bigger fight for both after Cejudo has 1-2 title defences including beating DJ again and I don't think Cejudo deserves to be put into any "Superfights" just yet even though that was an impressive effort fighting through what looked a serious injury to beat the top P4P fighter

 

I agree, it was either sheer stupidity or a serious lack of discipline to open up like that after what happened in the first fight.

Strangely CG started very well I thought, he was kicking more, keeping a nice distance, looked fast and sharp, seemed in complete control of his emotions and then it gets the slightest bit spicy and he loses control.

That fight will haunt him for a long time, he can't make any excuses this time around.

 

He can't ... but probably will anyway.

I was gutted they didn't interview him, I really wanted to see him have to explain that performance.

 

Cejudo could come up ez, he looked huge tonite, and a fight against Dillashaw makes good sense both money/legacy.
Rather see that one, myself.

Else risk this belt lacing-up against the tasmanian devil for a third time. No one’s going to say he’s “ducking”, stepping up for Dillashaw
