I don't think Kovalev was gassed to the point of not finishing the fight, he just got caught by a guy with perceived power and that was it. I'm shocked Kovalev was stopped brutally by a guy with a 50% ko ratio.

Maybe. Hard to tell since he got stopped fairly early in the fight (only round 7). He sure as hell wasn't getting caught like that in the first Ward fight, though.

Boone ko'd Stevenson in their first fight, so Boone can crack.

I think Chilemba knocks out Saturday's poorly conditioned Kovalev.

    Kovalev vs. Alvarez

...I am seeing Kovalev fans saying he needed to hold to stay alive?!? What a day!

Kovalev is cool though. No reason to hate on the guy at all. Great run. But wow, Alvarez bringing the hammer and mixing things up!

Just watched the fight damn I thought Kovalev was turning up the heat and Álvarez was gonna be copping a beat down after round 5.

Though in round two I did kinda think Álvarez might have enough to hurt Kova when he hit him with that big right.

I guess it’s what happens when you get too overconfident, he could see he was hurting Alvarez especially to the body, got a bit too reckless and paid the price. I kinda feel Kova would stand a good chance in a rematch if he played it a bit cooler and just stuck to the body and played it safer on the outside.

    :deal:

For anyone who missed it the first time. Check it out. I like Bivol and all, but his hype train is off the charts, and he's yet to truly blow me away when in against elite talent. Sure Gvozdyk blows hot and cold, because he fights to the level of his opponent. And when his opponent is B or A- he brings his A+ game.
