Although it was a close fight, Sergei was clearly ahead 58-56, 59-55, 59-55 before getting caught.

So i believe he will exercise the rematch clause and attempt to win back his titles.

It won't be easy, and i don't believe he will be favorite, but who's to say he won't succeed?

Would you retire if you were clearly winning on the cards 58-56, 59-55, 59-55 before getting caught?

Not sure he was clearly winning, he was catching shots and looking uncomfortable way before the 7th

Kovalev just made about five concussions in one minute and a half. Alvarez beat him fair and square. No need for a rematch when those thing happens.

I had it 3 rounds a piece so clearly ahead might be an overstatement. If Kovalev dedicates himself he is still a tough out but I'd rather get Alvarez vs Stevenson next, assuming he still has that wbc silver belt.

Don't think he was clearly winning to be honest, he lost the first 3 in my eyes. He was starting to come into it before getting KO'd but then again Alavarez would have taken over again.

Kovalev could have finished it in the 4th. Alvarez toughed it out, big credit.

He may well call in the rematch but the trend is clear when it comes to his level. He said goodbye to his peak some time ago and I'm not sure he is willing to put in the hard yards to get the physical fitness needed to compete, or if his 35-year-old body will even allow that. He's an old 35 through ill-discipline and, it would seem, vodka...

Still ahead and winning any way you slice it, despite being KTFO

Whether he was ahead or not is irrelevant, all that matters is the end result.
