Sadly, this is another of those threads that make you think " Why?"

Maybe we can have a double header and put Fat Willie Meehan vs Lennox on the undercard. Thatll plant the asses in the arena.

He would have a chance, but it would be a very slim one.

Probably no need to hold a thread to debate exactly how slim.

Maybe I should show my work.... to me, I see similarities between Peter and Galento, although Peter is less fat. But stylewise they seem to be similar and they weigh about the same. Therefore, it got me to thinking if Galento could do as well as Peter.

Slightly better thread: How many of Wlad’s opponents would have beaten Tony Galento?

I don't think Galento can get pas the jab or handle too many right hands. Wlad punishes Tony Wlad KO2

Sometimes on this forum, we find ourselves in the presence of an over correction, for a past failing.

Some people dismissed Galento as a contender because of his physique, and others used him as a stick to beat Joe Louis with.

Others reasonably countered by saying that he was actually a legitimately dangerous contender.

The bottom line however, is that he was not even among the best and brightest of his own era.

The year that he was #1 in the end of year rankings, there were probably four better fighters ranked beneath him!

I actually liked Tony as a tough guy and a character but for starters Peter was 5" taller and had 5 or 6" on reach. Peter was also far better conditioned. If Tony landed no doubt he could hurt the fragile Wlad but the odd are very slim to me ..

If Wlad wanted to, this fight would be over in 1-2 rounds.

Hollywood ought to make a bio flick about Two Ton Tony and cast Butterbean in the leading role.
