Do you think if Matchroom made Bellew v Uysk and Whyre v Chisora with a few good British/Euro level match ups on the same bill they could sell out the Millenium Stadium ? I think they should go down this route.

Yes. Usyk v Bellew is a very good fight and is borderline PPV for me, given their relative exposure in the UK. A meaty undercard fight like Whyte v Chisora 2 (although I don't really have any interest in seeing it again - maybe Whyte v Povetkin if he gets beat by AJ? That I'd watch) and some good, above all COMPETITIVE, scraps on the undercard, could justify PPV.

Not sure they'd sell out 80,000 though. Maybe the O2 would be a better choice, or the MEN?

boxing fans totally conditioned, by boxing promoters, to think/act like.. boxing promoters

who gives a fck how many tickets it would sell? does that impact on your decision to attend?

    What's bitten your arse?

The question wasn't 'would you attend' the question was 'do you think Usyk v Bellew with a solid card and a decent chief support is a MilStad event'.

Calm down, dear, it's just a question.

Have to agree with Wig on this, it's not for the fans to drum up and decide which should be ppv to generate interest etc etc
I personally wouldn't buy any, besides there are plenty of legal platforms to watch them on anyway.

your question makes no sense, what do you even mean by "is it a milstad event"?

you've clearly fallen into the trap of thinking like a promoter would think -
"can I convince enough mug punters to part with enough cash to watch a telly in a stadium if I put these names on the bill?" now that's a legitimate question which a boxing promoter will be asking.

What question are you asking, and why?

MilStad is what the now Principality Stadium was known as when it was the Millennium Stadium.

I didn't ask a question, I answered one, and then you piped up.

My question is to see how popular people think such a bill would be. If Bellew fights Uysk it will be 100% a ppv, if Whyte fights Chisora it might well be too. As standalone events with a decent undercard they are MEN/02 events, was just wondering is it not better maybe combining such headline fights to try and offer fans a mega event and create similar revenue that two standalone events would generate.

You're making yourself look stupid now. It's not thinking like a promoter to debate whether a show is worth being PPV, given fans are the people asked to stump up the difference between a regular Sky bill purse and a Sky Box Office purse.

It's a fact that certain fights cost more than others to stage. There's no debate over that. The question repeatedly posed is whether a fight is worth an additional fee to watch, on top of whatever subscription costs are required normally (for the moment I'm assuming we are talking legally watching it).

It's not thinking like a promoter to ask or answer that question. If you had a season ticket for Man Utd lets say, on the basis you get to watch every league game, and they ask you for an extra £20 for a game with Man City because it's a massive game, it doesn't make you a football chairman to have an opinion on it.

The facts are that Eddie Hearn enjoys hero worship from a large majority of casuals.

He could sell the casuals literally anything as a PPV, based on the best available fights he has for a date that is....

Approximately half the boxing shows this year are standard shows compared to PPV (4-3)

So at this point PPV has become a cash grab norm and is about milking boxing fans, and not about putting on the best fights.

Hearn will continue to make standard shows, as PPV shows, to maximise the revenue from boxing. Meanwhile standard sky subscribers looking for a standard card for free can suck on some lemons.

Hearn is looking at there PPV events it seems before the end of the year.

    AJ v Povetkin
    Bellew v Usyk
    Brook v Khan

Won't be too long before we will be having PPV events on a monthly basis!!!

Why are they mug punters?? There is a reason these " mug punters " keep going back to these stadium fights every time because they have a ****ing ball!!!

It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I wouldnt call the fans in attendance mugs , and I'm pretty sure the vast majority who attend would tell you they have had value for money.

not every one who likes the sport of boxing needs to be some sort of historian expert.
