they said this in the lead up to the parker fight, if only they'd been true to their word poor mick might still have a roof over his head.

i think hughie could do good things, but they need to realise that they arent getting any favours from anyone and are going to need to do it the hard way to build a ranking, which will involve some traveling. no one wants to fight him, and for sure the uk HW scene is just going to a be a round robin of matchrooms second tier sluggers for some time to keep the gravy train greased. which likely leaves hughie with some pretty underwhelming options in the uk.

Hughie will fight Pulev for the simple reason that there's no one else to fight.
For the same reason, Pulev will fight Hughie.
    And it's an IBF eliminator.

Yeah but they also said they'll travel to NZ and we know what happened there. I'd love for the fight to happen though and I would back Hughie to beat Pulev with his movement if the fight does go ahead. Pulev only has a jab.

who else is there he can fight ?? Dave Allen for 50k in a function room at Bolton football club?

I don't think they have many other options and I think he will be paid quite well for the job aswell

Hughie really needs to take this unless he’s going to sign with Eddie or Frank. I just don’t see where he goes if he rejects this and stays with Hennessy.

The IBF has postponed their purse bid until August 16, after it was originally scheduled to take place on August 8.

What on earth is going on?

deserves a lot of respect if this happens, hughie has some ability but he needs to go out and put in a performance here, hes still young of course, but he really needs to build his ranking doing it they way they are because no one is buying anything for him (mick already tried that).

out of all the uk HWs hes one of the most promising, first world champ as amateur (wasn't a gift either), has shown he is comfortable in the pro ranks, can really box, yet is completely off the radar, which is probably to his advantage.

hopefully the fight happens and he shows what hes capable of.

He definitely has the goods to go far hughie, he just needs to let his hands go more and put some weight behind the shots.

Pulev is very beatable but Hughie must take the fight to him and look for a mid rounds stoppage, fighting the way he did against Parker in Bulgaria will only be another loss on his record

Good luck to Hughie. I genuinely think he can win this fight and become a world champion in the near future. Hopefully he shows a wee bit more offence which was needed against Parker but we did see it against Sexton (yes it's only Sexton but the Hughie before the Parker fight would have probably gone the distance with Sexton), but his movement is by far the best in the division and gives anyone in the division massive problems.

Pulev was/is a very good fighter with a tremendous jab, he’s never been the quickest though and after long periods of inactivity and age catching up with him I just think that Hughie should be able to outwork him and dance around him.
