I’m rooting for Povetkin. Like the way he fights a lot and he has fought a lot of quality opposition unlike most heavies. Although AJ has too.
Here’s to a good fight and for me hopefully an epic upset.

I don't think AJ will be underestimating him, but I do think there's a good chance Povetkin knocks him spark out.

I see Povetkin's big left hook arriving before AJ's booming right hand.

I'm worried that he caught Price clean a fair few times more than I ever thought Price was capable of being hit.

If Pricey is able to take a good few shots, and is willing to risk trading and actually hurt you......
I can't see anything other than a Joshua win.

Boring UD by jabbing Povetkin at distance for 12 rounds.

A final thought on this one.

From an Anthony Joshua perspective, the best preparation you could possibly have for Povetkin is 12 rounds with Parker as the lead-in fight. Parker is a fighter of similar dimensions & has excellent hand speed. Going 12 rounds with Parker should sharpen AJ right up & have him primed to deliver his best against the Russian.

Personally, I would have side-stepped Povetkin b/c of the risk he poses but having made the decision to fight him, Joshua should be coming in on peak form.

Really good fight this, I reckon. I don't see Joshua hiding behind the jab for 12 rounds. Povetkin needs to force the issue & when he does, I expect Joshua will accommodate him.

I am picking POV to win, but when he does it will ruin the big potential showdown between Joshua and the Fury Wilder winner

Joshua winning would be better for big time heavyweight boxing in the future, but I don’t think he will be able to beat POV

How's that for some serious irony. Who would have thought at the time Britain would one day riot over a white guy beating a black guy.

Personally I'd like to see them KO each other so nobody wins.

However, it would be awesome to hear this said once again:

"Oh dear dear dear it's all gone horribly wrong".

But if Povetkin and Wilder win, they will be the 2 real champions.:deal:

Drug testing without the WBC is lax, PEDvetkin is a monster when enhanced (top 20 all-time), and he will enhance away. This is a great fight.

I would have no problem if Sasha KOed AJ.

It’s a decent fight, Pedvetkin always comes to fight, I enjoy the guy, great left hook plus a good right!!!

I would agree but honestly Price came in and gave the fight of his life vs povetkin, he was fired up and gave it everything. I give povetkin a pass based on that.

OK Povetkin will a harder fight for Joshua than Pulev would have been. Povetkin look bad against Wlad because Wlad held the entire fight. But Povetkin is just to easy to hit. Povetkin needs to try to take Joshua in the later rounds where he lack in Stamina just like frank bruno did.

Price has a glass chin for sure but he has punching power. Lets not forget Price dropped Joshua in sparring as well. That chin Joshua is pure eggshells and his stamina sucks. He is like a black Wlad but he does not have Steward to save him. Joshua will be exposed soon. That is why Joshua ducked Ortiz. ANd now he is ducking Wilder. His promoter know Joshua can't take a punch and Wilder's power scares the hell out of him. Boxing needs to go to one Belt per weight class. I'm geting sick of people like Joshua not give us the fights we want to see. One of them is going to end up losing and the payday will be gone. Price would be a good fight for Fury next.

How many people are going to be complaining here when Povektin spends the entire fight unable to land any flush shots on Joshua, stuck behind a stiff jab all night long?
