Joe Joyce has teamed up with Al Haymon...does this mean he’s left Hayemaker Ringstar?

Doubt it. Richard Schaefer promotes shows for Al Haymon.

No. It says working alongside his current management team.

I think because it’s his current management team it’s stopped him working alongside Eddie or Frank who he would be much better going with. Look at the talent at British heavyweight, it’s thriving. To take yourself off and make your US debut isn’t really too clever. You also only need to look at Degale and Selby’s career paths too...

yeah but he'll get paid well by al haymon, get a few wins and some experience, try and pick up a silver belt or whatever then fight aj/wilder/fury at some point and cash out, he is already 32 so wherever he gets paid most money is where he should go.

Can’t see the US liking his fight style. He must be affective but God he looks awful technically.

Nowadays Al doesn't pay any better than anyone else, the days when he had 1billion of investers money to play with have long gone. He tried creating a new format in boxing and has more or less fallen back on the way things have been done by everyone else.
I agree with other posters, the hw scene is here now. Also the best promoters for him are here.

Yes and it's not as if any British heavyweights are lining up to face him either (for good reason too) so I don't see it as a bad move. Hughie and Chisora have already said no to fighting him.

He has little choice, can’t fight Joshua,Whyte,Hughie,Chisora,Dubois or Gorman and lower stuff like Sexton is not needed for him with all his WSB and major amateur experience.

He can go and get the best training available in big bear, and get matched with Washington,Molina,Martin,Kownacki,Brazeale and the like before the end of the year.

It’s progressive.Good luck to him,Eddie isn’t the answer to everything as Fury has proven getting to Wilder so quickly.

So hopefully that little weasel of a hanger on he had as manager in Sam Jones is no longer with him?

The US don't seem to like anyone's fight style. They can't even sell 10k tickets to their own heavyweight champs fights.

I've just watched a couple of videos of Adam Kownacki and if he is representative of the top US heavyweights just under Wilder's level, I think Joe Joyce will do well fighting in the US.

I also watched a couple of Big Baby Miller's fights and I think Joyce could take him as well so Joyce could establish his name pretty quickly in the US.

In fact, I think Chisora could clean out most of the US based heavyweights and that includes Ortiz.

In his debut he beat Ian Lewison in 8 rounds without breaking a sweat, Lewison went 10 rounds with Dillian Whyte for the british title in his previous fight, not bad for a debut.

To be fair the Lewison against Joyce was in much worse shape although it wouldn’t have made a difference to end result.

Maybe once Whyte loses his world title shot he will be more receptive to fighting Joyce? That’s a fight I would like to see.
