Paddy Barnes is about 2/3 weight classes lower than this guy

The stupid twit went toe to toe with a much bigger puncher as well, which idiot thought of that game plan.

 

He's a Gallagher fighter, they don't have a game plan.

Imo it was worth the risk last night, Paddy isn't getting any younger and the fact Andrew Selby managed to beat Rosales by out boxing him and I think that would have been the plan beforehand. It is always different in the ring as to what you plan and last night Rosales just had no respect for Paddy's power and it looked like a hard task from the 1st round. I agree with @lencoreastside that it could have been close on the cards but I just don't think Paddy would have lasted the distance regardless of that body shot!

Not the end of the world for Paddy, he took his chance and he wasn't quite ready, back to the gym and get another few fights in before trying at world level again

 

It was a good fight. Just wished Paddy had used his footwork and kept it at medium range. It ended up a real inside ‘Cleverly-Fonfara’ style fight which was only going to suit the bigger, stronger man as the rounds wore on. That’s hindsight though, he was having his successes.

Not really mate, both have different coaching and fighting styles with their boxers. Paddy imo was just in against a bigger, better man on the night. It happens and you learn from it

Rosales was knocking Barnes back with jabs true...but most of his heavy shot were taken on rmsandgloves. Barnes had a much better 4th and was picking Rosales off repeatedly. Perhaps too much success as maybe it prompted him to engage a round or tethered too soon in the fight. Honestly I thought Barnes has much better variety in his work, better boxer etc and Rosales was very one dimensional. All walk forward throwing basic hooks. Well never know but Rosales was a lot bigger for sure and the harder puncher. Barnes has a good chin and the solar plexus shot was likely the only way he was getting flattened, he had no luck there.

 

The trouble is there isn't really much money to made at these weights. He can get some following from the Irish but generally people just aren't interested in watching such tiny men fight.

I suppose so but if he could bag a title n make a couple of defences it would be enough to start up his own business or pay off his house etc, then do training for a career
