How highly would you rate GGG if he were to beat Canelo (officially)?

How highly would you rate a convincing victory over Canelo should GGG win the rematch? Would GGG's stock rise or stay the same for you?
I get the feeling that the excuses are already lined up if Canelo fails against GGG. We'll have to see.

Honestly it won't rise much, I don't think many have much respect left for that turd.

who is turd?? a unified champ?

if 3G wins, he will have beaten an elite, fermenting his own place as an elite.

3G does not need excuses, he needs good boys.

Canelo is a turd, he had to pull out all the stops to catch a draw with GGG. Seriously I know he is a good fighter but it just seems like he is tarnished. For his stock to rise he needs to knock Canelo out. Golovkin's reputation relies on devastating KO's. His stock will rise over time if beats some other solid names, but he already beat Canelo so beating him by any other way besides KO does nothing for his stock IMO.

Agree, in my eyes he already beat Canelo.

I guess the "official" decision will raise his stock, and if he KO's Canelo then his stock goes up a lot. Canelo is one slippery bastich with a very good chin. If he doesn't want to be KO'd its going to be very hard to stop him.

I think it will be a very significant win for his legacy...it would be his biggest. I also expect Canelo to continue having success and is almost guaranteed to be a HOFer so yeah I'd consider very important to his legacy.

    1. He didn't beat Canelo, at best you can argue he slightly outpointed him, there was nothing convincing about that fight regardless how it was scored.

    2. How is Canelo tarnished? Do we really need to list the fighters who failed tests at some point in their career...if that's what you are referring to, then I disagree with your assessment.

oh right thought you said GGG was a turd

that said, since turd can draw with GGG from higher division what does that make GGG, bigger turd? You may have to rethink your post.

He beat him. Jacobs deserved the draw more than Canelo did.

I thought the fight was feasibly a draw so a dominant win over a younger fighter would definitely make his stock go up for me.

Very true, that's my reasoning why I think unless Golovkin knocks him out it does nothing for his legacy. Ok YES in the history books it does, but for the everyday boxing fan NO it really doesn't.
