If so then he's engaged in one of the greatest rope a dope's in history and he'll deserve every plaudit that comes his way!
Haha, funny enough didn’t Haye say something during the fight about not showing too much? I’m gonna look a right numpty if Wilder sparks him now
Knocked them all out.everyone.....yet you have invented a scenario that Fury does not want to knock bums out because he likes rounds....i hope you bet everything you have on Fury
He’s knocked out 39 puddings, the 40th was an old man with high blood pressure. I like and rate Ortiz but he really is old and slow. There is nobody else on that very padded record that makes you sit up and think wow. I’ve invented no scenario. Fury wanted rounds, that’s not something I’ve made up. He has openly said, along with his trainer and promoter that he desperately needs rounds. So if that’s the case then he’s not going to want to knock him out is he?
http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/468841 Check his record @tdf1974 , he fought an opponent even Dave Allen’s beat in his 32nd fight.
He needs the Sky Pundit Job for his pensions, after he retires. I would do exactly the same thing if i was in his position. Unfortunately i'm not so therefore he's a pri*k.
It's all the same crap we heard before the Klitschko fight. Fury may not be 100% come November/December, but Wilder is no Klitschko. The big man is putting on another clinic and bringing home the WBC belt. No doubt in my mind.
The problem is fury is not elite top level anymore. I genuinely think it will be a different fury if he does get in with wilder next tho. But It won't be down to his power/speed miraculously coming back IMO. He's not really sharpened his tools tho...he still throws sluggishly with no power behind his punches. That wont change by getting rounds in against a no hoper. He pushes the punches now which you,d expect from a normal 20 stone man built like fury. The fury of Klitschko and that one the other day is night and day. He was a big powerful man against Klitschko...now he's athletically not up to it. We all know a boxing brain etc,s a great asset...and boxers do well in head to heads etc. But they usually do have speed/sharpness/timing etc to go with it. Fury had none of them atm. That doesn't miraculously come back through hard work from where fury was at up at 27 stone with a three year lay off. Big fury fan btw...and don't rate wilder all that highly. He,ll drown this version of fury tho...unless fury has a miraculous recovery. Which I wouldn't rule out...probably Wont be down to Ben and hatton sharpening him on the pads tho. That's just my opinion on it based on what I ve seen of fury. Only a stupid coach would stick this current version of fury in with wilder atm.
the annoying thing for me is that wilder hasnt improved, if anything he has regressed due to his handlers being far too cautions with him. hes an excellent athlete no doubt, but despite his record boxes horribly sloppily at times against some real average fighters. yes he has those big windmills that he telegraphs over which he uses to bash over some tired old puddings, but the only time he has faced live opponents was as an amateur and in sparring, and those guys put him over time and time again even with headgear. hes an accident waiting to happen (although the same could easily be said of fury and joshua), but he might just be getting fury at the right time, because despite those looping haymakers of his needing that stratosphere grazing trajectory, they will hurt anyone not paying attention on the end of them.
How often do we disagree bud hahaha. I enjoy your posts though. Ok, firstly, we have no idea that Fury isn’t elite anymore. Maybe Wilder will show us that he isn’t and you’ll be right, but imo there is no evidence of him no longer being elite. Secondly, he’s not 20 stone, he’s just over 18 stone and he wasn’t trying to knock him out so he probably was pushing out his shots a bit. Thirdly, as I said above to @Hattonmad , he threw 620 shots in 10 rounds. Now before anyone shoots me down, I am only comparing the punch output and nothing else....but Lomachenko threw 627 shots against Linares in 10 rounds. So athletically, he’s doing alright mate. Fury for me is a bit like the Ward’s and Mayweather’s...people have complained that they aren’t exciting to watch and they don’t knock people out much, but they adapt throughout a fight and have the IQ to frustrate and nullify their opponents work. Fury is just like that...the more dangerous the opponent, the better he works to take their attributes away. When he’s fighting an opponent who offers little then so does he.
Fury will be criticised all the way up until the Wilder fight. Then he'll win, and Wilder will be branded a nobody. Same thing will happen on the lead up to Joshua fight, and then people will say AJ was a hype machine (which is true) Tyson will then retire, known as the greatest heavyweight of the weakest heavyweight era of all time. (Just because it's Fury)
Ha ha. I actually agree with a lot of your stuff also mate....think the last time we disagreed on something you turned out to be 100 percent right. So shows you what I know. Can't remember what it was either. Might have been regarding David haye. I agree that fury is different class at his best. He didn't need to be really athletic to get away with what he did because he's great at the things you,ve listed. But without speed/power and timing...its an uphill struggle against wilder. You need to be a sharp puncher which fury kind of was and you need to be quick on your feet again fury was. Its a slower puncher and slower on his feet version of fury. All wilder needs to do is up that pace. Without ticking the boxes he needs in this comeback its another struggle all together. Wilder has more than just power tho. He's being slightly underrated on here. His footspeed is very good. He has speed. And power. And also defensively he's getting better. They,ve got that right hand working reflexively. He's got a good jab. I don't rate him all that highly. He's good without being great. But its hard to match these things with fury's current speed and power. The powers not gonna discourage anyone or the speed he's putting them out there at. He,s carried both guys he's fought for me....but fury always done it with accumulation anyway. He didn't really need to go in pulling his punches against the guy at the weekend anyway. I think its stamina management as well cause he looked better the last few rounds. Even just that tho shows he's no way prepared for wilder. I think he,ll still be tricky...he knows enough to keep him in a fight....but will get harder as the rounds go on for him. Who knows tho mate I,d happily be wrong.
