Would he retire again and succumb to another prolonged bout of deep, dark, suicidal depression.

Beating Klitschko and the resulting pressure of being heavyweight champion caused Fury to have a mental breakdown. I could only imagine what he would do if he lost to wilder...especially if he lost by brutal KO.

    Well let's see -

He has mental health issues, long bouts of depression.
Genuinely believes he is God's gift to boxing and that everyone around today is a bum.
Suffers from illusions of grandeur, thinks he has knockout power, thinks he is a lot of things.

And thus, if he does lose, in KO fashion... he'll probably disappear again, for a long time.

Probably go on a coke binge for years and post the occasional Instagram post where he says AJ & Wilder are bums and he can KO everyone.

Could ruin him, actually, which shows what a ballsy move it is, because he probably knows that. If Fury was really motivated by money and the easy life, he wouldn't have sunk like he did because he made millions and set himself up for life after Klitschko. He found out the hard way he needs other goals and motivations and that his worth is really linked to his boxing ability in fan approval in a huge way. That means that if he loses big, he probably would become severely depressed, maybe ruin his marriage, maybe his whole life. Those might be the stakes!

He will admit Wilder was the better man that night, collect his paycheck, and be more motivated than ever to get his revenge.

I dont know, he didnt seem to react that well to winning his biggest night. Never lost, never been knocked out and im guessing if Wilder wins its guna by by KO, Im really not sure he can come back from that. I struggle to believe hes gone from mentally broken to mentally bullet proof. Hes got a great excuse if he loses, he came back too soon so a loss isnt the end of the world for him but that 1st loss and especially 1st knock out is a real gremlin in your head.

I don't think he would react well at all. It would change his entire identity of how he sees himself in boxing. I think he'd struggle to understand it. Wilder would also struggle massively were he to, say, get knocked out or just defeated by Fury. But Wilder would be quicker to bounce back mentally as he doesn't seem so unstable. Whoever loses is going to struggle mentally with learning in their 30's that they are not who they thought they were.
