Does Burnett stand a chance to Win the WBSS?

Tete is beyond overrated.

 

I see him beating Donaire with his speed but can't see him beating Tete or Inoue. Tete v Inoue will be a classic if they both end up in the final

 

He has a chance, why on earth not. He made the right choice picking Donaire. Donaire is shot lets face it.

 

I think Rodriguez is the best outsider shot going by the odds.

Inoue likely to win though and some people would see his price as great value, if you believe he's as good as he's looked/claimed to be.

I agree. Looks great when the opponent suits him but I could see him falling apart against the wrong opponent....if he performs in this tournament I’ll be impressed but for me he’s still got a lot to prove...

 

Donaire gave a very good account of himself in Belfast against Frampton. The drop down to 118 though looks pretty reckless and Burnett should be able to negotiate that fight. Wouldn't favour him against Tete but you never know. And The Monster is just on another level. Those body shots he rips in are absolute sickeners. Would fancy him to win by stoppage all the way through this tournament.

To win the WBSS, Burnett will likely have to beat Donaire, Tete and Inoue in consecutive fights. It would be right up there any sequence of wins by a British fighter in history.

I can't see him running that gauntlet unscathed, but credit to him for daring to be great. Whatever happens, he should come out of it all with a much higher profile, and well placed for big fights between 118-126.

 

I don't want to detract from m Ryan's gutsy decision to join in the wbss, but with all the top guys in it he maybe had little choice... Participate or be excluded from big fights... Not much of a choice really.. .
