Abraham will be kept at bay by Pavlik's longer reach and get his clam shell cracked away. When Kelly starts beating his arms and body, it will fall. I'll wait to see Miranda's next fight to decide, but in truth, it has been so long since Kessler fought, it is hard to remember what he has. Of course, Pantera has some nice instincts when it comes to fighting, so expect AA to have a very rough time this weekend. Win or lose. :yep
If Miranda beats Abraham, then I think he should face Kessler next or even Bute or Taylor.. No need to rematch Pavlik who'll dismantle him again more than likely.. But if Abraham loses, will it take away a fight against Pavlik? I'm pretty sure Abraham will be victorious next weekend though..
Yeah AA indeed had his hands full too against the fighters he faced after EM. And he was dead-tired after them as well.
You saying that Abraham is a heavily favorite is is reaching based on the first fight. I Honestly think that Miranda will stop him this time. A Miranda win will look very very bad on Kessler, I think that he would then almost be forced to fight Miranda, or he will take a beatting from the boxing media and most of the fans, well i would say 99% of the fans worldwide that dont live in western Europe IE Danes and Brits. I say that because most people dont think that highly of Abraham to start with, and its not because he isnt a good fighter, but more because soo many are yet to see him fight.
Damn... WTF... Seems like I'm the only one interested in the EM-KP rematch. :sad2 Oh Well... I see Arthur winning the fight anyway. Pavlik left a blueprint in defeating Miranda by backing him down. As long as Abraham can do it (which I think he can since this dudes got balls), he will win.--But that's if Miranda still can't box. I guess we'll see on the 21st if he has improved his boxing ability. Can't wait!
First fight? I never said anything about the Miranda-Abraham rematch. If you read the post I quoted, I was responding to the idea of a Abraham-Pavlik and Miranda-Kessler doubleheader. Nothing to do with Miranda-Abraham. :?
My fault, I dont read the start of that. and I always get on others for doing that very thing I see your point after going back and reading the entire thread. I would too make Kessler a heavy favorite over Miranda, but I would also make Pavlik a heavy favorite over AA.
I just don't agree with everyone who thinks Abe's workrate would be anemic (thereby leading to a decision loss, which seems to be the popular view). I think Pavlik would force him to fight an animated fight even if the big stage didn't motivate him to do so anyway, and when you've got Abraham fight ing an animated fight you'd better have an iron chin...Kelly doesn't. :yep
I'd rather see the Abraham fight as well but if Miranda KO's Abraham that would warrent a rematch with Ghost and for partial unification why not ??
You may have noticed Pavlik had a height/reach advantage over Lockett. Kelly pretty much kept Lockett at arms length with the first clean shot he landed. AA 5′ 10″ GL 5′ 10″
AA is yet to knock out any decent world class fighters. In every step up fight he has only managed to get dec. He had a hard fought win over Eastman who was knocked out by Miranda. I think that AA has a decent chin and some guts but he is far from Iron chinned. You over rate the guy. His power is vastly over rated and maybe his chin abit. Pavlik has proven power and has been able to KO elite fighters while AA hasnt. Edge to Pavlik.
Well, I don't think so, at least not before he gets a world title. It seems Arum is only interested in the biggest names or titles at SMW, so if the Calzaghe fight can't be made, they'll stay at MW... But maybe if Miranda wins big on Saturday and grabs a world title with another big win, one day we'll see the rematch.
Plus, Pavlik took all of Miranda's power punches while Abraham's jaw was busted in half. Abraham would get destroyed by Pavlik. I think a Pavlik/Miranda rematch at 168lbs would be legitimate in the future if Miranda stays strong. Fighters aren't robots, they can deteriorate quickly.
