    i don`t want to talk about the clenbuterol scandal, but i`m wondering how much love canelo received after all that stuff. exept his fight against floyd nearly every fight against good fighters ended in very questionable scorecards. he had 2 good looking ko`s, but khan or kirkland are not even close to reasonable opponents.

    golovkin is a marketing product too, but the way he put his opponents away were far more impressive than what canelo did. a pity that he couldn`t get all the fights years ago. canelo the biggest A side in boxing chose the most only very very easy paths.

    I am not a fan of Canelo, and the way he has been a market hypejob is annoying, but to say he has taken only very very easy paths is ridiculous.

    the only "really good" people he fought were floyd and ggg. against floyd he lost and against ggg we saw a gifted draw. i can only say what my meaning is and i dont rate lara, trout or a liam smith high. even against an old grandpa cotto we had a controversal desicion.

    canelo lives of high slo mo high lights which look good but never represent a whole fight. good looking is one thing but to hustle a whole fight is something total different. the fact that he is mexican is his joker. no mexian and no englisch language = no popularity

    I think Canelo is better than therussian is making him out to be, but, I do agree that his career has been marketed extremely well. You'd think that he walks on water the way some of his fans go on.

    Yes I’d agree,Oscar by the sounds of it would have him take easy paths but Canelo did gain respect for taking on the awkward Lara,since then though it’s clear he’s lost some fans over his actions.

    Don’t agree with you about Lara.Canelo was getting lit up by Lara and Canelo won that by pounding his body to a pulp.
    You’re on point with the rest though which is why I’m at odds with where this power puncher thing came from as he’s the king of twelve round victories.

    i wouldn`t say that. canelo is very good marketed in the country where the people are not able to handle money and willing to pay 100$ to see a ppv fight. in my opinion thats the reason why floyd generated so much money. his hardcore fanbase were blinded by trivial nonsense like cars, money and jewellery.

    for example, i am from germany. here in germany nobody would buy a ppv fight even for 40€ because it`s a waste of money, it has no value. the klitschkos fought on free tv and every single fight were watched by over 10 million people.

    "Canelo = Business Product"

    What boxer isn't a business product? They're all marketed in different ways depending on fighting style, personality, age, nationality etc...

    sure, but it depends on the degree how the whole thing developed. in my opinion he is not even near to that what golden-boy and the media saying he is. canelo is basically a "myth". saul alvarez is a good fighter who looks good in slo-mo, but nothing more.

    there are no facts. there are only subjective interpretations. i dont like that would-should talk but i`m pretty sure ggg would had litterally destroyed every single opponent of canelo in way more brutal fashion. even in the liam smith fight he had a lof of moments where he looked not good at all. Plus he can only fight in sprints.

    to be honest i love to watch his combinations and the way he moves but the probelm is, that his work just looks good. it`s not effective in terms of putting damage of your opponent.
