I think that Canelo was green but Mayweather was old. I could probably name 50 more times when the 23 and under guy beat an ATG or HOFer. Just because today fighters are pansies doesn't mean something can't be done. You might be able to find more examples of ATG and HOF fighters who did beat another ATG or HOFer by age 23 than those who didn't.

Actually, the Mayweather fight was an anomaly since it was one of I think seven times that a 36 or older ATG/HOFer beat another up and coming ATG/HOFer/p4per. 19 times out of 20 the younger guy smashes the old geezer. See Trinidad vs Whitaker or De La Hoya vs Chavez. I chalk Maywather winning up to him being on steroids or Canelo never really being that good.

Harry Greb beat Battling Levinsky by 23, Sam Langford beats Joe Gans when he's 20, Ezzard Charles beats Teddy Yarosz when he's 20, Anton Christoforidis, Ken Overlin, Charley Burley x2, and Joey Maxim x2 at 21. Muhammad Ali beat Archie Moore, Sonny Liston, and Floyd Patterson by 23. Roberto Duran had beaten Ken Buchanan, Esteban De Jesus and three minor HOFers by 23. 22 year old Mike Tyson threw a beating on Larry Holmes.

If you are going to jump into someone else's conversation at least read what I was asking.

Did Floyd fight Maidana in his second fight?

You should as you quoted it

I find it interesting that you’re using a weightclass with no weight limit. No extra variable there, right?

pretty unbalanced view. it`s not about winning against these guys, it`s about WHEN to fight them. fighting the hottest boxers in their prime. not before and not after.

Floyd beat Pacquaio, Cotto, De La Hoya, Canelo, Marquez, etc. All the multiple-title boxers with legendary and future HOF status. This is a resume that can't be bettered by any future resume.

As much as I want Pac to win, I DID score PBF win against Pac.

No, Garcia isn’t even as good as Linares. It would be a Corrales level win. Some people do think that’s an amazing win for Floyd but I don’t think so.

Salido wasn't really Lomachenko's second fight. It remains to be seen what Lomachenko can do at age 37/38.

DLH would be vegas favorite. As would Trinidad, Forrest, Wright and maybe Mosley. I believe Thurman and Brook may have been favored as well, but by that point FMJ was past prime.

You said who would be favored from 154 on down over prime Floyd. Those guys would have.
