It's worrying to see GGG hasn't accepted that he lost that fight and still insists some sort of "robbery" occurred. Even after his trainer admitted defeat. Even after promising Mexican Style and backing up all night. He needs to be honest with himself, look at what he did wrong and go back and work on these flaws. Otherwise he will end up like Kovalev/ Kovalev didnt accept his defeats to Ward, and ended up paying the price. He is still haunted by the ghosts of SOG
It wasn't a robbery that's for sure, it was a close fight. Canelo did more of what he did well in the first fight which was to compete and even beat GGG in close, he forced GGG onto the back foot for 2/3 of the fight and made Golovkin look old and slow at times. Golovkin's trainer even said at one point they were losing the fight. But having said that I thought Golovkin won by a round. Canelo looked very tired in the last 4 rounds and Golovkin did enough to win. But it was far too close to be called a robbery. But boxing fans being boxing fans a hissy fit has to ensure because their fighter lost.
even though i saw it a draw, I can see what you are saying, the onus should be to improve and get the win, rather than get worked up about not being able to beat an elite all your career.
the trilogy was planned from the beginning. this just proves that money is ultimately the goal of the sport. when pac-mayweather got away with their scam, many got emboldened. the justification is hefty retirement money for all their hard work. the fans are still thinking all fights are legit but not at the top where the big time promoters are always just looking for a way to cash in by hook or by crook. the respect with some good fighters are now diminished. they are accomplice to the dangerous use of PEDs without regard to the many deaths of this dangerous sport becoming more dangerous.
Funny this same exact sort of gaslighting was used against JMM and his fans even though he ought to be 4-0 (1) against Pac. "He just has a victim mentality! All in your heads! The official results are fine as they are...*
This wasn’t a robbery. But after the first fight I think Triple G has right to be upset. One guy pops twice for a banned substance and seemingly gets every close round. It’s an uphill battle- I had 7-5 GGG but a draw is possible too - hard for me to find 7 rounds for Canelo but will watch fight again. Most of press had same score. Great fight regardless. Really an epic competition
It's karma for all the trash GGG fans talked both fights. Not once did he come close to finishing Canelo. With the failed drug test, many were saying how Canelo is smaller and wouldn't be able to withstand GGG power anymore. But what did he do? toe to toe for 12 rounds.
The guy's a middleweight in in his late 30's. If he couldn't go back to the well adapt his style, and bring it all for this fight, he never will. There comes a point where no matter how hard you train, you just can't get off the way you used to. It's been a nice run.
It's karma? You mean karma for the guy who got jobbed in the first fight only for his opponent to them fail a drugs test TWICE....and then arguably get jobbed again......karma for that guy you mean?
It's hard to eliminate confirmation bias from anyone's scoring of a fight: fighters, trainers, promoters, fans and judges. I don't think there's a victim mentality going on here. People are gutted their man didn't get the decision. Great fight, btw...
