**Most people dont know how to Judge professional boxing**

I would fire Abel if I were GGG. He seems as much on the take as HBO crew did. I've read most experts, like 90% thought GGG won. And teddy Atlas publicly picked canelo to win and doesn't care for GGG and he even said GGG got robbed. TOugh fight, closer than the first, but 7-5 GGG at worst. Heard vegas had GGG at -700 odds to win the fight going into the last round and canelo was +3 or 400

 

Canelo never looked in trouble. When GGG landed good shots he took them and made him miss then hit him back hard and pushed him back.

 

You do have some misconceptions yourself about scoring.

In general, clean, effective punching is what you score the fight on. Defense, effective aggression, and ring generalship are basically used as "tie breakers" if the round was incredibly close. It comes down to puching.

As a judge you have to discern if that one hook outscores those 2 jabs. Also, damage comes into play. So it is subjective. But you are supposed to ignore missed punches, they dont matter. The Jim Lampley favorite of "landing at a higher per centage" means nothing.

If a fighter is hurt, that carries a LOT of weight to make up. So you could land fewer punches but hurt the other guy and win the round. Even rounds are strongly discouraged, with too many being a sign of lack of concentration.

"So and so is the champ" is not supposed to be taken into account. and each round is a seperate fight to judge.

But the idea that you can check " Canelo had better defense, came forward, and thus was dictating the fight, so he wins 3 of 4 criteria" is NOT how it works.

I promise.

 

As you watch the round, you are supposed to be thinking at all times who is winning. Each punch could change that. You dont just wait till the end of the round and go "ahhh...i think canelo won"

 

Oh- and earlier someone said they thought at one time GGG may be close to being stopped- thast is one of the dumbest things ive ever read. Canelo was buzzed a little in the 10th, but neither guy in either fight was ever close to being stopped.

 

GGG can’t complain about close rounds when he eats clean punches. It’s great that his chin can take it, but it’s no benefit on the scorecards.

 

I agree with the 116-112 for Golovkin score myself (could see it 115-113 for Golovkin too) and as I predicted in a post the day prior to the fight if that was the case the official scores would be 115-113 115-113 and 114-114 MD for Canelo, which was exactly what they ended up being, the corruption is so damn predictable in boxing it's sad...

 

Effective aggression and punches clearly went to Canelo, At the end of the fight ,which fighter looked beat up? The one that caught the harder shots that's who

 

Well, I didn't say that, you did, when you were putting words in my mouth. I said I look at who landed more punches and how effective were they given there was little to separate the two otherwise. What kind of punches did GGG land? Apparently ones that wore down and started pushing Canelo back towards the end of the fight. What kinds did Canelo throw? Apparently ones that did more to wear Canelo out than they did to hurt GGG, if anything.

If boxer A throws 5 punches in a round and boxer B defends all of those punches and boxer B throws no punches in the round who will win the round? I would say boxer B. See Floyd mayweather.

As a GGG fan, I am disappointed, but the decision was right. Even 7 billion people watched the fight had GGG winning, the 3 judges have the final say.

Canelo had more authority on his shots than GGG, that is how judges see it.
