i picked canelo for the exact same reasons that you saw, ggg steadily declining. except i didnt even try and pretend i was good enough to see that he was declining just enough to still beat canelo, but declining for 5 years none the less.
He may have obligations soon now that he's the WBA and WBC champion. I think going by the mandatory rules Lemieux or Charlo are next. My guess is Lemieux or Golovkin rubber match. I don't think the Charlo fight will be made for another two years since it has the potential to be a mega fight if Charlo manages to become a house hold name. Fighting once a year is not helping his marketing.
Coincidently, 70% of people are unaware of how to score a fight. There are many legends in boxing who had Canelo winning. I think their opinion matters more than a journalist who have likely never fought a day in their lives.
The most tell tale sign of Gennady's defeat is Abel's( the biggest agenda in this fight next to GGG) reactions to the outcome.
Good to hear. I personally felt Canelo won both fights when I scored it. We can agree to disagree. I don’t understand the outcry from people that this was a robbery though.
Abel Sanchez knows GGG lost. It seems like he was humbled by the fight. He talked this big game about GGG and mexican style, about Canelo running, challenging Canelo to stand in the rematch, he clowned Canelo about the failed tests.. He saw everything backfire and really has no choice but to give Canelo huge props. He's humbled. He says that he's not going to cry about GGG losing (something GGGoons should also do). He says the judges were great. And he seems to find comfort. When he says it was a one round fight.
Im sure he cares for GGG.. They been together years now, so he doesn't straight out say it, even though on the Spanish network he pretty much blamed GGG for losing. Said he didn't listen, chose the wrong type of fight, and that GGG made the common mistake of thinking he was winning despite Abel telling him that they were behind and needed the last three rounds to win. Then he says that GGG lost the 12th.
You're one of the guys that had Canelo beating GGG 10-2 and drawing with Mayweather, right? Translation: Oscar and Bernard. Oh boy. So if Lennox Lewis says Golovkin won it, you'll defer to his opinion? Cool.
No, I am not one of those guys who had Canelo beating GGG 10-2. I'm one of those guys who thinks 7-5 can be argued for each fighter and 6-6 is obviously a fair outcome. Personally I had it 7-5 Canelo. Legends that had it for Canelo, yes ODLH and Hopkins, and Julio Cesar Chavez, Erik Morales, Mike Tysom, Marco Antonio Barrera to name a few.
Yes, and I'm sure plenty of that 70% that thought Golovkin won, also felt "7-5 could be argued for each fighter and 6-6 would obviously be fair outcome"...they just thought GGG nudged it. But it's a bit hard reconciling that statement of yours with your "Coincidently, 70% of people are unaware of how to score a fight". I mean, which is it? Either you claim not picking the guy you did, immediately proves ydksab or it was genuinely close and could have gone either way (like you say there)
