Golovkin showed beautiful footwork and tremendous adaptability. This was overlooked simply because PEDnelo didn't run like the first fight. PEDnelo came forward all night, yes, but Golovkin controlled the range of the fight. That's why Golovkin's back never once touched the ropes over 12 rounds. This would be an impossible feat if Golovkin didn't dictate the fight (it is possible to dictate a fight going backwards).

Pause for a moment and think about it — the guy who came forward all night couldn't once put Golovkin against the ropes. NOT ONCE. Against a guy who is the complete opposite of being fleet-footed.

• Golovkin controlled the range for every second of every round

• Golovkin neutralized PEDnelo's significant speed advantage by expertly negotiating a little step back or two as he boxed on the backfoot; subtle, yet brilliant footwork

• Golovkin was always in a position to land or trade (distance and range management) w/ his piston jabs, hooks, and uppercuts

• Golovkin's back never touched the ropes and he never circled the perimeter of the ring nor were there stretches of time of inaction

• Golovkin never baited PEDnelo in only to wheel away like a lil scared ho (see any Floyd Mayweather fight)

Golovkin outboxed PEDnelo going forward in the first fight and then he outboxed and outfought PEDnelo going backward in the rematch.

Golovkin was robbed TWICE.

Golovkin as the bigger and more powerful man should have stood his ground and fought Nelo back toe-to-toe.

He had no business retreating backwards , but did so cos he was worried about shipping too much punishment
Canelo would have put an even worse pasting on him if he opened up and he knew it.
Just because Nelo didn't pin him to the ropes , doesn't mean he didn't tame the beast and fight him off for the majority of the fight

 

canelo lost the first fight backing up. then lost the 2nd fight going forward. it just proves how great GGG is his boxing skills are great. shame the judges were bought by golden boy like with every canelo fight.

 

Golovkin is 36. And he knew how tough PEDnelo is and KOing him was a long shot. He outboxed and outfought PEDnelo landing more jabs, more punches, opening up a huge cut, and had him badly hurt in the 10th.



PEDnelo didn't put him on the ropes because he couldn't because Golovkin controlled the distance of the fight. 12 rounds of failing to drive Golovkin to the ropes lets you know all you need to know who controlled the fight.

the funny thing is the ones claiming canelo won there main reason is because "he came forward" and most of them are Mayweather FANS Lmao. the guy who went backwards and ran his whole career and made everyfight he had boring as hell. now they defend a guy going forwards?

 

Canelo put his back to the ropes voluntarily in fight one and GGG couldn't land a glove on him. GGG is simply not good enough to box Canelo with his back against the ropes.
Canelo's being the superior boxer drove Gennady back all night where he hid behind the safety of his jab.
Nothing more to it than that.
