I'm a gender-less alien from outer space. Povetkin may have accepted the fight. But then so do many smaller guys against bigger opponents in lower weight divisions but they are prohibited from such fights. Povetkin looked like a sissy, when his hardest punches bounced off Joshua's chin like a feather bouncing off a wall. Just because Povetkin accepted the fight, doesn't mean the size disadvantage wasn't there.
Lewis, Wlad, and Vitali all lost against guys under 6'5". In fact they were stopped. Wilder had his toughest fights against Stiverne (1st fight) and Ortiz, who were both under 6'5". Joshua so far as well has had his toughest fights against Takam and Povetkin, who because of their footwork and timing were able to neutralize his height and reach and give him problems. Luckily for Joshua Takam can't punch and Povetkin's age caught up with him.
Lol Wlad was knocked out 3 times in his career by guys around 6'3 or less. You casual boxing fans crack me up. You act like no fighter was 6'5 or above to Wlad and AJ came along. There were numerous guys that height since the 70's and when they fought skilled fighters they lost.
Based off your still logic then Jarell Miller should be a Super Super heavyweight since he weighs 50 pounds more than AJ.
Unless you are 6'5 you can't beat a fighter 6'5? The seems logical. I guess that is why Povetkin knocked out the 6'8 David Price. I guess that is why 6'3 Corrie Sanders knocked out Wlad in 4 minutres. I guess that is why 6'2 Lamon Brewster knocked out Wlad. I guess that is why 6'2 Ross Purrity knocked out Wlad. I guess that is why 6'1 Sam Peter knocked down Wlad 3 times in their first bout. I guess that is why the 6'3 190 pound light punching Steve Cunnighham almost knocked out Tyson Fury. Also Wilder has been calling out AJ for the longest time. Wilder also called out Wlad but Wlad picked AJ and lost.
Wilder has been taller and longer, name some opponents he was outright bigger than. He's a ****ing beanpole.
The only thing I take away from this is that Wlad has a glass chin and can't mentally handle pressure.
AJ has a glass chin and can't handle pressure either. The main difference is AJ has only fought old men who could only put a little pressure on him. In any case being 6'5 like AJ or Wlad isn't going to help you beat somebody who is 6'3 230 like George Foreman, 6'3 210 like Larry Holmes, or even beat fighters like the 6'2 205 to 210 Holyfield.
Wilder is the smallest top heavyweight there is and we have threads talking about making a new weight class because he’s too big. Wtf is wrong with you idiots. If there was a 240lb division all of the top heavyweights would be able to make that weight anyway, even Tyson Fury. If you can get your fight night weight to 260 or less you can make 240.
Yea but they both fought in very weak eras. I highly doubt we see another HW era as competitive as the 60's-70's again.
Yes Lewis, Wlad and Vitali were all stopped by smaller men but in the case of Lewis it was because he severely underestimated his opponents (he got easy victories in the rematch), post Steward Wlad never got troubled by a smaller fighter again and Vitali’s loss against Byrd was due to an injury. What I’m trying to say is that a good big one beats a good small one.
