Is Joshua good for beating wlad, or is he exposed by older wlad?

This isnt a trash Joshua thread at all, i just wasnt really on forums when wlad got knocked out by Joshua. Ill be honest, when wlad knocked him down, i was saying 'told ya' to a lot of people. But joshua got up and won, pretty awesome fight altogether.

My question tho is, how did people feel at the time? and now that some time has passed? Did people think a past his prime wlad showed that joshua woulda been destryoed by prime wlad? Or did joshua show that he simply was better than wlad?

To Joshuas credit, wlad stayed powerful and athletic well into his late 30s. But wlad also had looked slow and past it for a few fights. He was getting by on his boxing skill alone some times. just curious what everyone thought. Sure its been discussed before. relevant since povetkin is also way past his prime. Joshua can only fight whats put in front of him tho, he doesnt have a time machine to fight prime alex or wlad.

Wlad & Povetkin were past prime, but would people give Joshua more credit for beating a prime Wilder?

I think those versions of Wlad & Povetkin probably beat Wilder.

Parker may be the best prime opposition for Joshua in the division, if one considers Fury past it.

This argument is bull****. Example why:

Some of you guys still cry and whine about Canelo being too green for a 36 year old Mayweather then turn around an give Joshua **** for not dominating the 39 year old veteran Wlad Klitschko, then spin around and say Canelo got a robbery against a 36 year old Golovkin and then say **** like Wilder was fighting a old man Ortiz.

See the non logic in all of this stupid **** you guys write on this forum and you question why anyone trolls this site. You mutha****s are crazy as cat **** with your emotions about boxing.

schooled? it was the worst title fight in history. they should have declared anyone who didn't watch the winner. neither guy did anything.

He went to Germany and Klitschko couldn't lay a glove on him. Wlad, who had been dominant for years, who dropped Joshua.

barely a glove was laid on either guy. what did they average per round? ten punches landed between them? the rest of fury's career has been a travesty of ducking, cherry picking, and almost getting stopped by feather fists.

That doesn't normally happen in Wlad fights, which should tell you Fury did something worthy. There wasn't much controversy about the decision, Fury beat Klitschko in his backyard. It takes something.

    I'll agree he's a cherry-picking ducker though.

Wlad was 41. That's a whole new level of old for boxing.

    41 years old, FFS.

Not that long ago I pulled up some quotes from the WK Vs Fury rbr on here, simply because Wilder and Fury fans were talking like Fury was some kind of all time legend and his performance against WK was an ATG performance.

the comments from the rbr were comedy gold, if anybody wants a giggle go and read through some of that rbr, it's hilarious.

Fury was absolutely slaughtered and so was WK, the fight itself was also savaged. It's actually rather interesting how people remember things or chose to remember things.

not to mention fury ran for his life from the contractually mandated rematch, which would have been his career high payday. his duck list approaches ten.

Corrie Sanders knocked out a prime Wlad in 4 minutes. So that must mean Corrie Sanders is one of the all time greats then right? Wlad was never good. He was exposed as a glass chin fraud and then spend the rest of his career hand picking his opponents and hugging on them. Anthony Joshua beating a 41 year old Wlad proved nothing.

Joshua is ok. He has a fighters heart and he clearly possesses athleticism and power. He is a bit stiff and robotic. He is the best heavy right now but for me he is a clear level below prime Wlad And after today I would favor prime Povetkin over him.

Wlad was a good fighter I think. But just extremely limited. And he was exposed by no names and old guys numerous times.

If he could hug and jab he was a nightmare. But take that away and hes helpless.
