Reality is AJ's cv is far better than Fury's. Fury's doesn't come close.

His hurting inside that people actually give a damn about Anthony Joshua.

Fury today blocked Matchroom, AJ and DAZN from his twitter. So it's now Hearn, AJ Matchroom and DAZN. Insecure much.

Im not sure its "abnormal" power

hes a 6ft 6 monster of a man, its not surprising he has bags of power. Look at the likes of foreman etc, were they abnormal, no...just beasts, rare yes, abnormal no.


Im more surprised how wilder hits so hard with his much smaller frame and wild technique.

 

Joshua is improving at such a fast rate, he adds little things to his game each fight and even adapts throughout a fight. He was throwing feints, trying to set traps, keeping his right hand up. He’s an intelligent boxer has he showed against Parker, too. Of course you can find faults with him but there’s not many fighters you can’t.

 

Facts. The people on here saying he is a terrible boxer are either strong haters or trolls. The way he fought last night really impressed me. You can tell Joshua has huge respect for the art of boxing.

 

Joshua has always had great judge of distance, you can see that in his early fights which does suggest a decent IQ. I thought he was still very robotic and he is in a sense but i dont think he is as predictable now.
Another thing that impressed me last night was his use of his shoulder when defending. As Povetkin stepped in Joshua would turn his left shoulder in towards him, blocking off the attack, meaning Povetkin had to swing his left alot more and taking the power out of it.
He did get caught at first but had it figured out by around the 4th round.
That wouldn't necessarily work against a bigger opponent but it was pretty clever.

I really want to see the Fury fight, it's so intriguing to me.

Terrible boxer is a ridiculous claim.

A terrible boxer doesn't beat the fighters AJ has in such fashion.

I totally agree, and nailed it about the shoulder. McCracken has done a really good job with him imo. I wasn’t sold on him for ages and like you say I thought he was too robotic but he is meticulous and measured.

I think AJ beats Wilder but i’m one of those who thinks that it won’t happen anyway as Fury will do a number on Wilder first.

 

Yeah, I think it’s down to styles isn’t it bud, we all like different things. Ordinarily, if AJ was under the radar so to speak and didn’t have the Eddie Hearn’s and Sky giving him such huge mainstream appeal, hardcore boxing fans would give him a lot more credit. I could be wrong like.

 

The thing is tho Joshua goes in against these guys four inches taller with two or three stone in his favor. And a massive reach advantage to boot. With that in his favour....if he's letting povetkin get on the inside on him....its hard to credit his boxing ability too much.

 

Joshua doesn't fight tall. He never has. If you can't appreciate the traps he set last night and the way he softened Povetkin up with body shots then I can't help ya.

 

I thought it was an excellent performance. I had the scores even going into the 7th with Joshua looking like he was ready to take over. He looked a little nervous in the opening two rounds but going into the 3rd his concentration was good, movement excellent for a big man and he was targeting Pov to the body. In the 7th he hurt Povetkin with a volley of shots and didn't let him of the hook. A ruthless finisher which required a mercy intervention not only by the referee but Povetkins own corner. And credit to Povetkin the guy actually turns up to fight.

 

He looked like a KO waiting to happen in them first few rounds but he settled down a bit and got the finish.
