Casual fans keep saying Tyson in the 80's was too much for AJ. Tyson period was too much for AJ until Mike was in his mid 30s. AJ is slow, robotic, has no stamina, and no chin. I would say prime Tyson would knock AJ out in no more than 3 rounds.

You people laughing at my post clearly haven't seen the Tyson vs. Smith and Tucker fights, he got stumbled good in both fights and Joshua is stronger than both of them, and maybe you guys didn't see when he got knocked out by Douglas?. Stop being biased, those punches that Povetkin got hit with were brutal and Povetkin has a great chin even though he's been knocked down a lot before.

Joshua would have to survive an early onslaught, but people love to remanticise about some past greats. Mike Tyson regularly smothered his own work, especially after the first few rounds. His stamina dropped right off.

Obviously you have to favour Tyson but If joshua does manage to survive the first 2-3 rounds and starts to land some power shots there is a good chance Tyson quits by fouling out.

People judge mike based off watching his highlight reel.

No doubt mike was a great fighter with such an entertaining style but even in his prime i seen much lesser fighters than Joshua give him things to think about.

I'd favour mike but Joshua is live

He didn't beat any good tall fighters.

Povetkin and Parker were both good against tall opponents both lost to Joshua.

Mike does have a good explosive style to use vs Joshua but Joshua wouldn't fight the same way he did vs Povetkin

Against Povetkin he had a go early which is why he got clipped in round 1.

Against Tyson i wager he'd do nothing but hold, lean and stifle. And when you are fighting a man near 50lbs heavier who has immense physical strength and you don't have fantastic stamina you arent in for a cakewalk.

We just saw AJ versus 39 year old Alexander Povetkin. Povetkin has only ever been stopped once.

Here's Iron Mike against 38 year old Larry Holmes. Larry was only ever stopped once.

Certainly not. In his prime, not only Tyson has indomitable power in his fist, he was also very quick and hard to be attacked. KO victory, no doubt.

Def not. He was a can crusher ,lost in his “prime” and he was past prime at age 30. 25yo tyson would beat Joshua, but not because tyson is the best ever, more because joshua is not that good.

I don't see ANY version of Mike Tyson doing any better than Povetkin did. Povetkin has FAR MORE heart, courage and mental fortitude / strength than Mike Tyson ever had.

Mike Tyson would have quit, and stayed down if Joshua dropped Tyson the same way he dropped Povetkin the first time in round 7. Povetkin got back up, time and time again because of his heart and mental strength.

Prime Mike Tyson lost to Buster Douglas. 80's Mike Tyson was overrated. He would lose anytime, to any elite heavyweight that is big enough with sufficient mental strength.

Mike Tyson is only faster than Povetkin. If you take Tyson's speed away from him, Povetkin is simply the far superior technical and tactical boxer.

39 year old Mike Tyson would have been blasted out of the ring much faster than 39 year old Povetkin.
