It should be based the quality of opposition you have beaten in the year and going i n that criteria it should be AJ . Beat an undefeated Champ in Parker whom was rank 3 at the time to pick up his third major title. AJ then stopped Povetkin whom was also ranked 3 at time, arguably had the best record in the division after himself and who has never been stopped.
Tbh yep, can’t really argue against Joshua. I thought the cards against Parker were awful but he won the fight.
It’s entirely the point. He has achieved most of that in the last year. Before the start of the year he was a 9-0 fighter holding the commonwealth title (something not particularly unusual). He is where he is now because of what he has achieved in the last 12 months.
Beating Postol was a much tougher challenge than beating Selby imo. Postol didn't have a belt but is a figher of a higher caliber.
Joshua probably should have won it with Taylor being a close second IMO. Regarding the question of whether the O'hara Davies win was included for Taylor's last 12 months, it wasn't. That fight was July 2017.
AJ or Taylor deserve it over the others in terms of quality of opposition but I believe they gave it to Taylor due to beating the quality he has at such an early stage in his pro career. Beating the level of Vasquez and Postol in only his 12th and 13th fights and then entering the Super series is pretty badass dont you think ? It's not normal in British boxing for that to happen.
Yes it's very bad-ass. I've no problems with Taylor winning it. He's one of if not my favourite boxers. Just saying if the decision was down to me and I'm judging it fairly without any favouritism, I'd had gave it to Joshua
I thought Dogboe, Fielding, Whyte and Ryder have all had a good year. Not dead impressed with Burnett this year but Warrington, Taylor, AJ and Ritson have been excellent tbf.
How has Taylor arguably achieved ‘far more’ than AJ? It’s literally not even a debate, intrigued to hear your response. Honestly, the comments some people come out with. I don’t even think CST or cutthroat would argue that point!
