It's worth noting that BARB is only 'estimated' figures. They have a sample size of about 2,000 people who sign up and they are asked what they were watching and at what times. They then estimate how many people were watching TV at those and add the percentage of people watching a certain show at a certain time. So say 25% of people (of their sample) were watching EastEnders at 8pm. They then guess that generally 20 million people will be watching TV at that time, so the viewership will be 5m for EastEnders. Sorry for the essay! But my degree is related to all this and that's certainly how it all worked a few years back. So 1.1m buys isn't totally accurate, but a good estimate of the numbers it did in reality.
If you honestly think fury wilder does 1m ppv buys in the U.K. at 4am then you are the deluded one. Honestly, how could you ever come to that conclusion? These guys simply aren’t ppv.
lol you are trying way to hard to find a negative. 1.1 mil PPV buys, 80k in stadium for a defence vs Povetkin yet you want to try and claim "not a good look for AJ" C'mon dude stop hating and just congrat the guy on drawing such big numbers. A hater will always try and find something negative no matter how successful somebody is.
We are not accountants we are boxing fans. Lets hope they fight and leave the suits to worry about cuts etc
One doesn't have to but one doesn't have to try and desperately find a reason to post something negative when the numbers suggest differently. You shouldn't kiss Beiber's ass but if we had a music forum on here and there was a tread discussing 'huge Bieber album sales' you then dont decide to post something negative just cos you are not a fan. This thread was simply about the numbers. Someone trying to paint a picture of the numbers being a bad result for AJ is simply hating for the sake of hating.
Tony Dosh's popularity is in decline - that is the point. He has made a career out of fighting puddings except Wlad and Povetkin. The fighters know it, Eh Day knows it and at long last the public are beginning to wake up and know it.
A mil PPV Buys and 80k at Wembley say otherwise. Still let's not let the numbers decide, instead let's poll our friends. That makes perfect sense. If AJ v Povetkin did 800k PPV Buys and 70k tickets that would still be a ridiculous number. Surely we are not expecting AJ's numbers to increase every time he fights no matter the opponent. That's a ridiculous bar to set and one which isn't put on any fighter.
The product Tony Dosh v Wlad set a high bar which can only be met in the future v Wilder if he remains undefeated. Yes the PPV Mugs and tickets sold still a ridiculous number but the product since Wlad has been absolute pony and the empty seats tell the bigger story.
