Rocchigiani was a former 2-time world champion, having won the IBF 168 pound and WBC 175 pound titles. Rocchigiani is perhaps most famous for his 2003 lawsuit against the WBC, in which he won 31 million dollars. RIP champ.
Did he actually get the money? I remember reading he would have bankrupted the WBC so they came to an agreement.
WTF?! I always liked Rocky. Damned good fighter in his prime and tough as nails. He beat Henry Maske in their first fight IMO and I thought he edged Eubank too albeit it was really close and I've also had Eubank edging it as well when I've re-watched it. He was really unlucky against Michalczewski in their first encounter too, when Dariusz appeared to feign injury. So with a bit of luck on his side he could've had victories over an unbeaten Maske, an unbeaten Michalczewski and an unbeaten Eubank. That tells you all you need to know about the level of fighter he was in his prime and like I said he was one seriously tough SOB. Yes, in Italy. His girlfriend is italian and living there. He was there as a walker and a car hit him apparently. RIP Rocky.
Damn, that's sad news. Rest in peace champ. he was on the verge of doing the boxing world a great favor.
I always thought he had a great movie villain face. He reminded me a little bit of Jurgen Prochnow, craggy but cool looking at the same time. He had one of those faces where you can tell immediately that he was as hard as nails This content is protected This content is protected
