Excluding Haye, who is Bellew's best win?

His record is absolutely abysmal, IMHO.

He took the WWE route (being heard on the mic) and it paid handsomely for him, and fair play to him for finding an angle. He grates on me so much nowadays, but he obviously used his head and he's laughing all the way to the bank because of it.

    But his record is shocking.

Clev beat him, Stevenson flattened him, Haye was shot to pieces...

After Makubu (because it's the obvious choice), what is his best win or standout wins for him? Because I've yet to see him dominate a division or put together a solid run of wins at one yet.

People slate RJJ's best wins ("Tony was drained", "Hopkins was green") but look at what they did and what they went on to do! Tony won 'Ring fighter of the year' NINE YEARS AFTER he lost to Roy! think about that. And Hopkins was mentioned as top 3-5 P4P a good FOURTEEN YEARS AFTER Roy beat him!) but he beat solid comp. Yet nobody seems to pull Tony's resume apart because he was "drained" when he fought Stevenson - looked fine to me - and because he beat Haye twice (who was shot to smithereens).

So, excluding Haye - who exactly is his best win, how good does that victory look now, and what will it do for his resume when he retires?

Strange to compare Bellew to RJJ...not sure what that is about...probably one of the greatest boxers of all time...

Considering he was struggling with Bob Ajisafe and written off by fans at one point in his career he’s done very well. His hype and profile exceeds his ability imo purely off the back of beating a shot to pieces Haye so I see what you’re getting at...

    Best wins:
    Makabu
    Masternak
    Cleverly
    Chilemba
    Flores

Not the resume of a p4p great but he was a genuine world champion and has made a **** load of cash and no one can take that away from him.

Eddie has done amazing things with him...

Haha never thought I would hear Bellew in the same sentence as Jones, Hopkins and Toney.

My god Bellew is doing something right.

Bellew gets some right stick on here! He is a total tit in my opinion but you have to respect him what he has done in his career multi millionaire limited ability ( world level ) , next up fighting on ppv for another couple of million for all the belts against a p4p star!!

    He is doing something right!!!

I think his best win is Chilemba to be honest.

Haye is obvioulsy the biggest name but i wouldnt even say it's his top 3 win giving the circumstances.

Both wins against Crippled Toe are not his best wins at all - best paid by a mile but conning the public a disgrace to the sport of boxthing.

Ha! Just a common theme between them. Clearly in terms of skill etc, Roy is in another realm altogether.

    Cleverly on paper.
Masternak, Makabu, Chilemba and are good wins too.

Don't forget people had Makabu was the favourite against Bellew. Everyone wrote Bellew off in that fight and Makabu was ( wrongly) seen as a beast and one of the most dangerous fighters in the division at the time. (Time proved for that to be false hype, but it's worth noting)

Apparently the second kid was a very controversial SD and the wife still maintains that she'd have won if it was over 15 not 12.

I've always thought masternak then clev were his best wins. Followed by chimbella.

I'll judge bellew after the usyk fight.

He gained my respect by beating one of favourite fighters twice. Ok he might have been shot to bits but I had bellew down to lose twice.

The usyk fight will show use what level he really is.

However fair play to him fighting haye turned out to be a master stroke both financially and in terms of profile.

Hes a gobby tit at times but I also think hes as sound guy really.
