Adamek is 41 years old and got outweighed by 100 lbs. Adamek hasn't been a name in heavyweight boxing in years.
Okay. We may have to agree to disagree on this one. I just don't see Miller having the punching power, technique or fitness to compete at the top level. He can go okay in one direction with his weight but how he does when other people tag him, I'm not convinced yet. Also, for me, the key thing is, what is his level of opposition. To date I have been entirely underwhelmed and he does not seem to want to do the hard work to fight other top fighters to earn a chance at a title.
He's just beaten a 41yo shop worn Adamek. Miller is an EPIC highlight reel KO waiting to happen once he steps up.
That's because Adamek couldn't exploit the weaknesses of being that heavy. Miller looked good for those 2 rounds though.
So do I, but I think his mentality is ridiculous. The “legacy” fight with Charr(now Oquendo) is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard a fighter say. When people look at your legacy they look at who you beat first, not which belts you held. Unless he really wants to be remembered as the world champion who won his belt by brutalizing a small 45 year old contender who was never all that good in the first place, and who has been out of the ring so long he might as well be making a comeback after a long layoff.
Miller is nothing more than a curiosity at this point. With a physique like Mark Henry it's highly unlikely he troubles the top fighters in the division but of course he can look good blowing out ancient former LHWs in a couple of rounds. Hearn seems determined to foist him upon us as a Joshua opponent for some reason so he'll be getting a shot at some point though and that's when he see him getting demolished in brutal fashion.
I didn't watch the post-fight interview, so I think I missed this. He said he wants to fight Oquendo for his "legacy"? That does sound pretty goddamn stupid I have to say. All of this nonsense with Oquendo needs go away already. It's true the fans don't usually care about these belts that much, but I get the feeling they're somewhat important as a bargaining chip to get good fights later.
