Yep look at Vitali and Fury neither of those guys are pretty boxers, their fundamentals are poor their punch technique kind of sloppy, but look at their foot work and it's a different matter. Dealt with is right in regards to their being different ways to being effective, not everyone has to look like Hopkins, Mayweather etc to be effective but foot work is one of those things that is so basically right or wrong you can't really get away with it not being right. Now you can disguise bad footwork with having fast feet but fast feet isn't the same as good footwork. But for all Wilder's flaws he's still unbeaten and beat a guy like Ortiz who is technically way superior to him. Technique isn't everything but eventually poor technique against the right opponent sees those flaws exposed, Ortiz wasn't the one to do it vs Wilder though he came close, but maybe the similarly unorthodox Fury will be the one.
This thread is proof that a lot of people on this forum don't know what they're talking about and have never been in a gym before, most of those guys have never thrown a basic jab in their life. ****ing idiots.
Wilder didn't even look against Zelenoff. I see Zelenoff shocking the world in the rematch as Wilder's next voluntary WBC defence (if he gets past Fury).
Come on mate. Blind Freddy could see his unsure, unsound and undeveloped in the calf / ankle department and it shows all throughout. Not to mention the bad technique on difficult combinations that he tries to mask with speed - since when have backfists been legal in boxing? If boxing was reffed properly Wilder would have points deducted or DQ'd in just about every fight he has been in.
His footwork is fine, he’s shifting his weight, he isn’t off balance at all. He’s heavy on his lead leg as he’s throwing consecutive lead hand punches. Look at Rigondeaux training, he does it a lot as well. Keeping the weight on the front foot allows you to push off for lead hand punches or step back with ease for the counter rear hand, which is what Wilder does in that video.
You have very few androgen receptors in your calf muscles, that’s why you can be muscular and have no calves. Not to mention his length, he’s 6’7. It’s hilarious that you think his calf development could have anything to do with his technique.
It's hilarious that you simplify one bit of what I said and then consider yourself correct. Explain why he overbalances so much? Good movement? Why does he throw backfists? Why does he throw rabbit punches? What about lifting his back foot up to his hammies?
lol, of course he is off balance. look at the video ffs. A simple push would bring him down to the canvas.
If he loads up and misses a shot with all of his weight on his front foot, AJ will knock him spark out. I also think Fury outpoints him with relative ease and no scares.
It’s pretty clear to me that, once his fighting days are over, he’ll become a successful coach or even a promoter.
Not trying to brag, but I would knock you spark out with my stiff jab. I'll make you taste my sugar babeh.
Read above, I explained all of that. Rigo also lifts his back foot up like that. He rabbit punches sometimes because of how lanky and long he is.
At what point is he not in control? A simple push from the right angle would push anyone over, what’s your point?
If someone lands a punch to Floyd’s face when his hand is out throwing a punch he would be sparked out. Thanks captain obvious.
