Donaire is loved in LA and I had the privilege of meeting him one night. Great guy. I was at his two most recent fights in Carson, Walters and Nishioka, which was the main event following Rios vs. Alvarado 1.
Enlighten me. I was 8th row, Detroit Joe Louis Arena. So there was no chaos at the time of stoppage? In fact when one watches the fight, you can even hear a female's voice hollering coward. Watching it, one can see Dirrell walking around hollering "who called me coward." I'll add this: When Direll got up, he seamed like he wanted to break down in tears when his ..man I forgot who is promoter was...he said "I got dropped. I got dropped" He said something to the effect of no,, your were dropped illegally. You won by DQ.
I meant the Ward/Abraham fight was completely free of drama. Yours was full of it. Perhaps I didn't make that clear.
Also 1/2 of the arena was kinda empty. I sat three rows from Tommy Hearns & the dude who sparred & kinda co-coached one of the Klitschko bros. I'm drawing a blank, a Detroit HW who never got that big.
Uh...ok..... We wil agree to disagree...as the drama played out for several moments from that horrendous ref.
I'm 100% agreeing with you. I was at a completely different fight, one that was as drama free as possible, between Ward and Abraham. You were at Dirrell vs. Abraham which was absolutely nuts.
You are correct, there wasn't much drama in the fight. I am correct there was plenty afterwards Plus I didnt see WARD name my bad!!! Ignore everything I said!!!!!
Bellew v Makabu at Everton Park. Great atmosphere. I know i don't get out much. I'm just glad i'm got home safe to my wife and kids. I was also at Khan v Prescott in Manchester when Khan was brutally ktfo.
I was lucky enough to attend the Joshua vs Klitschko fight at Wembley. The atmosphere was just absolutely unreal, having near enough 90,000 people roaring Joshua on to win in such a dramatic fight that swung both ways at several points... I'll never forget it.
My first live fight was one of Foreman’s comeback fights at the old London Arena where he flattened Terry Anderson in the first round. But my biggest and most significant though was Nigel Benn V Gerald McClellan at the same venue. Unreal atmosphere but the rest is history.
My 1st trip abroad to witness a world title fight at the Mecca of boxing. It was also a surprise gift for my dad's 50th. A never to be forgotten trip......and yeah it was a great fight too
I've just checked my ticket and was Block 215, Row 2, Seat 41 to be precise haha! I'm not sure if that'll mean much but it was sort of midtier-ish. Not bad seats at all though. But the atmosphere was just incredible and singing along to 'Sweet Caroline' with Michael Buffer after a few pints was another highlight of the night!
