Ive seen fighters cheer when they think its a winning knockdown. Personally I don't like seeing it. Win the fight first and foremost. Though I haven't seen anyone lose after sitting his opponent down but, I'd be surprised if it hasn't happened.
kind of, but I also feel really bad too for someone getting badly hurt. mixed feeling. I tihnk thats human.
I dont see a problem with it knockdowns are the most exciting thing in boxing. now my cheering stops if the guy is seriously hurt.
I meant the fighter! I jump around like an idiot when my man knocks someone down! And that has DEFINITELY bit me in the backside before.
ah yeh with you. I mean, yeh they can cheer, but there should be some concern for the guy shortly after if they are human. Sometimes if they are cheering remorsely and immediately posing for the cameras without a thought for the other man, it might suggest the fight involved a preorganised dive. Its simply not normal to completely disregard someone that you just clubbed out. That said there a fair share of abnormals and immatures in boxing.
Povetkin is a great example of not cheering before he knows his opponent is OK. That's what makes him very likeable as a boxer but also as a human being.
No never. Even if you score a savage KO you must never celebrate. Just walk off nonchalantly like Herr Frenkel This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Brutal, yet professional. I like it more than someone giving it the bigun. Why did Frenkel retire? That guy passed me by (though that's not unusual!)
If ive spent months training to knock a man down, if ive met him in the middle of the ring while hes trying to do the same to me im guna celebrate if i knock him down. Im not going to stand over him shouting at him, im not going to do some silly dance around the ring, im not going to go bananas but im going to smile, enjoy it and then im going to stand in that neutral corner and watch the guy see just how ****ed up he is if he is trying to carry on. If he is looking in a seriously bad way, a worrying way, i will calm down very quick.
Apparently he suffered from depression and just fell out of love with the sport. I think injury might have played a part too but I'm not sure. Such a shame as he was a beast. Rumour is he sparked out Huck in sparring x 2, which is no easy feat as Huck was as tough as old boots. Been 8 years since he last fought but surprisingly he's only 33 y/o now. The KO of Enzo Mac was one of the most savage and gruesome I've ever seen. However, Frenkel said he wasn't even sure if it was the best he'd scored J.S: You certainly got better in that 7th-round! Was that the best left hook you’ve ever landed? A.F: In the amateurs, I scored a lot of knockouts – maybe twenty 1st-round KO’s. I had so many amateur knockouts that were just like this one, so I can’t really say if that was the hardest one. But it was one of the hardest, yes.
