They used to say Germany/Italy you need a k.o to get a draw but the UK over past few years is astonishing

 

No way the judges could have scored that even going into the last round. You don't even have to be a boxing fan or a sports enthusiast to see who was clearly winning that fight. Bakole was 7 or 8 rounds down and in need of a knockout.

No I have no clips but I distinctly remember it. Bakole was basically wailing in a high pitched voice pleading and Nelson said “you’re not ****ing quitting on me”.

Don't know why people are sh!tting on Nelson over this. If the guys nose had been hanging off then fair enough if he can't take no more.

It was clear Bakole had thrown the kitchen sink and had nothing left and he just wasn't prepared to dig deeper than he ever had in order to win. Personally I think hunter was one clean heavy shot away from being KO'd all the way through the fight and I reckon Nelson could see that as well. Hunters eye was pouring with blood in round 7 or 8 i think and it was really bothering him, that was Bakole's time to really hammer home and instead he gassed out and concocted an arm injury excuse to find a way out.
As for Bakole's level....he looked decent in parts but in all honesty it was hard to tell properly as ultimately he looked very unfit in terms of top level boxing. I didn't think much of Hunter to be honest. Had some good movement, could take a shot and put his own punches together nicely at times but he left gaping openings that Bakole should have been able to exploit. He was very very messy as well which i worked in his favour.
Overall Bakole left a lot to be desired and it's right back to the drawing board for him. Needs to get his fitness up to scratch and go from there. If he doesn;t have it in the tank to do a full 12 he needs to learn to control the fight better so he can come on in the later rounds.

 

Yeah - he was so unfit he was being outstrengthed by the much smaller man in the later rounds...hunter looked tired too just happy to dig deeper.

 

He might be right...I think he asked Billy to pull his shoulder out of its socket so that he could pull out for a dislocated shoulder! Derrrrrr you thickos!!!!!

 

I'd say it was bad matchmaking tbh. Bakole hasn't fought past area level and then jumps up to a guy who has mixed at world level, unless you've got huge amateur experience, WBS experience etc then you shouldn't be making that jump.

Even if they look good in the gym, sparring guys at that level it isn't the same as a real fight. bakole should have fought someone like Webb or Sexton then look at mixing it with guys like Price or Allen if they can be made. That's the sort of step up he needed and it completely backfired. Looking at it, it was insanely poor match making.

 

He gives Allen a lot of stick on Twitter for being bang average. Allen would be his man's best win.

I see a few lads on Twitter were questioning Bakole and he went into a group DM chat with them and answered any questions they had instead of shying away. Trying to find out what was said so I can relay it here.
