Agree with this, i think Matchroom will use this as a Platform to build their fighters plus they can guarantee fights with Jacobs, Andrade and Brook/Khan for Canelo. I wouldnt be suprised also to see a Canelo fight in the U.K when DAZN launches over here

Common sense doesn't work for those who are desperate to see someone fail.

First it was DAZN will fail. Nobody in the USA cares about DAZN etc etc etc. Now the narrative changes to good for DAZN but Hearn will fail.

The same people who think this is doomsday for Hearn were quick to say how much of a flop DAZN will be. There is no reasoning with them.

Amazing news! DAZN made a true statement of intent here. Canelo will drive massive amounts of subscriptions and having 10 goldenboy cards a year plus the WBSS is a gigantic win and excellent value proposition for DAZN. When you throw in the lesser promotions like Belator and Matchroom you have a very reasonable service for the money.

    Well done DAZN :D

Sounds a lot like the Floyd-Showtime deal.

This is why the GGG fights were rigged, people have short memories, and cash cows with large fanbases are forever protected.

Yeah, I was the one that made this thread:

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/dazn-must-sign-canelo-gbp-its-make-or-break.616805/

Looks like what I hoped would happen is exactly what did. great to see DAZN took the common sense approach that I suggested and put themselves in the running to compete with ESPN and Showtime.

Judging by the replies to that thread and here, it seems this forum is peppered with people who don't really want DAZN and US boxing to thrive so much as they want Eddie Hearn to become richer off more of his poor quality content. Luckily, DAZN and myself are on the same page.

Well they have to overpay to attract the Bellator and the Golden boys, even Mismatchroom has money to pay Tevin Farmer millions lol

Get that right freaking Tevin Farmer is now a multi millionaire lol. Ffs he is making this cash fighting a bloke called James Tennyson lol.

Does that sound like a sound investment?

Jesse Vargas is supposed to be stacking cash fighting Duloe me lol, what kind of return will that get Dazn?

Ffs Andrade will be getting millions to fight a bloke nobody has ever heard of.

Hearn is blowing through the budget and he doesn't have a marquee name on the books.

Dazn is paying Canelo 365 mill over 5 years, Golden Boy might get similar.
The funds aren't endless, someone has to take a cut.

Seeing that Mismatchrooms deal was only a short term with room to extend they are easily expendable.

Golden boy wasn't really on the market when Dazn was first negotiating. Otherwise Edward might have never got a look in.

    LOL.

DAZN would have flopped hard if they stayed with Mis-Matchroom alone. Luckily they took notice of the terrible cards and complete lack of signings and made a bold but common-sense move.

You were 100% against a Goldenboy-DAZN partnership. That says it all really.

Care to share the sources for these imaginary purses you talk about.

How would you know what the budget looks like other than trying to find any way possible to make it look like the budget is being blown without having any info at all.

This isn't some al Haymon saga losing hundreds of millions rapidly

Frank is with Top/Rank ESPN+ and is part of a huge Showtime PPV Mega Event. He's in direct competition with DAZN on two fronts. Why would he be on boxing forums elated that his competition just signed the biggest star in world boxing?

Your understanding of boxing business is really quite poor.

PBC doesn't seem to have a problem paying million dollar paydays for trash fights. I think everyone at DAZN will be okay, but you keep hoping lol.
