Canelo's deal per ESPN 11 fights over 5 years and 365 million dollars

With this massive deal, I can see several fighters wanting to join DAZN. Canelo going to DAZN has legitimized their platform.

 

I didn't even think he would be fighting another 11 times, a couple of defences string out maybe 2 **** poor fighters in between and retire. . He's in for the long haul it seems

 

So DAZN now has Canelo and Joshua, two of the biggest stars in the sport. That's good, that's good, that's gooooood!

 

The Joshua one really doesn't matter though does it? He's huge over here, not in the states.

 

Sky ain’t going anywhere gumbo. They and BT renewed their Preimer League Rights in Feburary until 2022. Sky are safe, and they are the real big boys.

Can DAZN compete with a European Powerhouse backed and owned by Comcast, a American powerhouse ?

I don’t think so, this is pocket money what DAZN are paying Canelo, $365M for 11 years when you take into account BT pay close to that same amount of money for ONE year of the Champions League,

Never mind the fact Sky pay 1.5 BILLION a year to the Preimer League for UK TV Rights. Remember DAZN are paying £365M over 11 years. It’s a good deal.

But stop being a gumbo and thinking DAZN can just come anywhere and take over.

Wow 33 M$ per fight, minimum. Geez. The dude will have to work only twice a year and he'll make 66$M minimum a year. That's without his sponsorship and everything else. (yeah, I'm simplifying the ''working twice a year'' bit, but still !)

DAZN are paying $365m over 5 years to ONE fighter. Thats crazy money however you want to dress it up

 

The judges will make a fair few bucks then keeping their boy happy..............

Dude it was the same when ESPN set up shop in the UK. People were saying how being Disney backed would see them beat Sky. ESPN after a few years walked away from the UK sports market.

Networks like Bein Sports still very reluctant to come into the UK market as they know how tough and expensive it will be to take on sky.

Sky are the biggest sports network Europe and people still think that someone can come along and knock them off their perch.

Of course sky can be challenged but the idea that someone can come along and destroy them is farcical.

 

I don't understand these haters of one promoter stuff. Anyone who gives me more boxing I am happy about it. I was happy about PBC when it was first announced because it was free boxing on network television and although it was good at first it hasn't taken off like it should have, because too many of their fighters have been inactive. I just don't understand why so called boxing fans want to see a promoter fail it's the dumbest **** I've ever heard. If you're a fan of boxing you should be a fan of new ways to watch fights. I have DAZN and ESPN + I also have HBO and Showtime wherever the fights are I am. I hope DAZN is a success just like I hope ESPN + is and PBC this hating of certain promoters and wanting to see them fail is the gayest **** I've seen in boxing.
