Scott Harrison making another comeback

The BIBA is full of boxers who’ve lost there licence due to eye issues, mri issues or are that bad the board withdrew there licence

 

In this day and age with the white collar scene, some of the fighters are coming through that route. It's not a must nowadays to of served an apprenticeship in the ams.
All fighters who are licensed by the board have to pass an assessment. They have to provide proof that they have some experience in boxing whether that be white collar or ams.
I went to a white collar event last month, they had some decent fighters in there. I was quite surprised.
Scott has been well publicised over the years. He's had a lot of trouble out of the ring. He's brought a lot of scrutiny the boards way, through the media etc. Maybe the board just thought, Scott may be potentially more trouble than he's worth. Maybe that's how they came to their ruling.
Personally I would of liked to see him give it a last go. As long as he stayed in the gym and away from drink I think it would of worth him making a comeback.
Scott has notoriously had drink issues. Are they truly behind him now? It certainly wouldn't be worth coming back if he is back drinking.

 

White collar /unlicensed boxing is always going to be a mix of very good ex amateur kids Kids who just want to have a go. Charity fundraisers. And ex pros.. The bottom line for Harrison is he needs to make some sort of money and boxing is all he knows. Good luck to him . Hope he trains hard and can stay off the drink . The match making is 70%of the time one sided or fixed and I've seen some poor quality pub swinging in my time but I've also seen some quality tear ups. I know lads who box Thursday Friday Saturday nights for £200 a pop. Harrison can earn some much needed cash pretty quickly and it's better than standing on some factory floor watching the clock for £350 a week. Good luck to him even though i pitty any potential opponent . Personally I'd jump at the chance to get in with him and would suspect there will be a queue of fellas willing to do the same

Scott lives 5 mins drive from me or at least used to I think he is still in cambuslang tho? Used to drive by him as he was out running in the morning on way to work all the time. At his peak he was a monster a bulldozing wrecking machine with very good fundamentals. Such a strong jab that guys just feared being on the outside so had to engage then felt his strength and it was almost impossible to beat him. Met him in person quite a few times over the years. Easily the best Scottish fighter in my era of following the sport properly, one of if not the best I have seen in the flesh fight

 

And he was never on PPV

 

I am not sure were he stays these days though I have recollection of a paper saying Govanhill. Think i would rather stay in Cambuslang myself lol. I agree, by far the best Scottish fighter in my time watching the sport. He also beat top fighters in Chacon and Mendina to win world titles, think thier often overlooked as when he won world title Pacman, Moreloss, Barrerra and Marquez were all in the division too. It was the strongest division in the world then and imo over the last 25 years or so when he was World Champion. His boxing IQ and footwork were so underrated. Had many a great nights at his shows especially v Brodie.
