Frazier has more chance of beatin Foreman than he his of beating LIsotn in my honest opinion.

I agree Mcgrain. while, I dont think liston beats frazier as destructivley as foreman did, but he does so more scientificely and efficiently. frazier really matches up bad vs sonny.

    Thanks Mendoza,

I found the Holyfield one a bit hard to pick, both great at different things. Do you feel Holyfield takes it? Could he stop Frazier, possible?

Holyfield to me was a better boxer, and hit harder than many of the fighters who either stunned or floored Frazier. Holyfield had a heck of a chin, was a great counter puncher, could combination punch. But above and beyond that Holyfield had a plan A, B, and C. Plan A was to slug, Plan B was to box, Plan C was to dirty fight. Holyfield could in fight or out fight, and target the body or head equally well.

Both men were all time warriors with a ton of heart.

Fraizer to me is great one dimensional type of fighter. He had a great hook, amazing stamina, and loved to brawl, but he did not have a Plan B to box and win, nor did he have a plan C to counter dirty tactics. While Frazier was a puncher, he wasn't an elite level one or two punch type of guy. I don’t think he hit harder than Foreman, Bowe, Tyson or Lewis, who could not stop Holyfield. Well—Bowe did but that was a bad version of Holyfield.

At their best, I like Holfyeld here via late stoppage with Frazier still on his feet but in a bad way, or by points in fights that feature mostly “ B “ or C “. I’d also lean slightly toward Holyfield in “ A “ war type of boxing match.

Some here disagree, but in my opinion Frazier’s punch resistance / swelling is below average by the standards of great champions.

Frazier gives holyfield a bad beating. holy didnt have the stamina or punch to match frazier in a brawl, this would end ugly for evander

Thanks Mendoza, good points all. I totally agree on Frazier, thats sort of what i mean when i say 'Frazier's no Tyson', in terms of skill, Frazier was a swarmer, and relied heavily on his big left hook and strength. Tyson was a great pressure fighter also, but very different, used angles and great footwork to open up his opponents' defence, and had a far greater variety of punches in his arsenal of which to dispose of an opponent with.

The reason i bring up Tyson is-

I either see this fight going how you do, the scenario i see most likely would be that Hlyfield starts brawlwing a bit, and will then use footwork, speed and a great variety of ounches to outbox Frazier, that could very well end up in the case that you put forward, Frazier being stopped on his feet. (very possible that, something i never thought of, but looks very likely, good one there!).

The only way i see Frazier winning is (and here's the Tyson thing), first i believe the only edge Frazier has over Tyson is in the hart and character department. Tyson couldnt hurt Evander and got demoralized, but if Frazier couldnt hurt a guy, he would just keep going, he'd feel obliged to TRY and hurt Evander here. And if Evander gives it back and Frazier somehow finds a way to be on top and keep 'smokin', i could possibly see him pound out a decision, a very hard fought one albeit.

Just for the sake of debate that really, i do see it a possiblr scenario, though a very outside chance of it happening. The more likely case to occur, is Holyfield taking it i must say here.

Holfyield, a man who TKO'd Tyson ( and frazier is meat vs Tyson ) , put down and hurt Ray Mercer, and Ko'd a pretty good Pinky Thomas didn't have the punch to stop Fraizer? I disagree. If Holy landed enough, he coudl stop Frazier.

Holy had a good hook, a good uppercut, and a good cross. His jab was good as well. As for stamina, did you happen to see the Holyfield vs Dokes, or Quai matches? Holy in his prime had true 15 round stamina.

Doubt it. Holyfield typically ate up fighters who possesed a similar style and physical profile to that of Joe Frazier. Holy's stamina and punch were just fine for Frazier. A great fight nonetheless, and one that either man could have won, but I wouldn't be so quick to say that Joe digests Evander.

A peak Frazier had a hell of a give and take war with Jerry Quarry, till Joe finally won the battle of attrition. Considering that, I would favor most of the fighters mentioned here to beat Frazier.

Dempsey UDec Frazier (Dempsey is faster, quicker, is more versatile, is a better mover and his punching arsenal is generally recognised as better than Frazier's.)

Frazier KO 14 Tunney (Frazier is a nightmare for boxers and Tunney maybe too small to contain that kind of furious attack. Interesting cat and mouse fight but once again Frazier beats the boxer)

Louis KO 9 Frazier (The fight would be exciting as long as it lasts and Louis would have to counter with great efficacity to keep Frazier off him. Louis is the better puncher, maybe the best ever, he's too much for Frazier, he would catch him coming in with timely blows repeatedly as the fight goes on, not after enduring the great pain Frazier inflicted to him)

Frazier SDec Marciano (A tough one but I feel Frazier's workrate and agression would give him a close win in an incredible battle of wills. Obviously both fighters can win this one by KO but I think both men have the courage to fight until the end)

Liston KO 6 Frazier (Liston is on paper the worst kind of fighter Frazier could meet. Big, strong, rangy, good chin and heavy power. Able to slug on the inside and dominate on a farther range too. Liston could manhandle Frazier or catch him coming with that heavy jab. Frazier is in for a beating)

Frazier UDec Holmes (Is Holmes better than '71 Ali ? Is he able to keep Joe off him ?) This fight would be a true classic but i think Frazier's constant pressure would be too much for Holmes, even with his ATG jab of his)

Tyson KO 3 Frazier (Tyson is a fast starter and an explosive puncher with tremendously quick and powerful combinations. His chin is steadier, his defense is better too. Tyson must destroy the slow starter Frazier before he gets rolling and he does)

Frazier KO 15 Holyfield (Holyfield would get drained in a war and would not try to box enough.. Frazier had an crucial advantage in stamina department. The longer it goes, the better Frazier gets)

Lewis KO 4 Frazier (Lewis is too big for Frazier and would bomb him from the outside with ease. Frazier won't be able to make it past the long jab of Lewis and may get tagged with deadly rights and a few uppercuts too)
