Mine was Wilder vs Stiverne 2

Only because this guy Ingram jones on YouTube was riding with Stiverne hard, doing 90 minute breakdowns, interviewing Stiverne whole crew and hyping it up for weeks in advance and even doing a live commentary stream which was just painful to watch.

A close second was Hatton senchenko

Tyson vs McBride was just painful to watch.

As was Juilo Cesar Chavez Sr vs Grover Wiley.

The sands of time erode the skills of all fighters eventually. But to see these two ATG's not only beaten, but stopped by men who wouldn't have lasted a single round in their prime was just downright depressing.

Putting a completely mentally unfit McCall in the ring against Lennox Lewis. Where else than Vegas of course, who have no issues pulling crap like that.

Both infuriating and sad to withness.

Depends how you mean “sad”?in its truest sense then any of those fights where there’s been one brain damaged or worse would have my vote.

But following on from your Wilder v Stiverne comments then I’d have to agree as we all knew that fight was going to happen after eight months of him tweeting about big news expected he did exactly what we all knew he would as the corrupt WBC had made Stiverne mandatory again so he had to fight him.still not convinced he won’t Breazele at the last minute instead of Fury.
All the A side bs saddens me as it’s not just about money, involves onside refs and nefarious judging to the point where I can’t bring myself to watch boxing at the mo.

Hmmm, obviously a death or too late stoppage is tragic rather than just sad.

Recently it was watching B Hop "old man" stepping whilst circling Smith in his farewell fight, then being bustled through the ropes, only to blag that his ankle had gone in the fall!

Turn it in Bernard! That was sad!

Smith hit him so hard in the head that his ankle went.
Tex Cobb used to say that about Shavers, but Smith Jr and Valuev are the ones that have actually done it. Vitali came close, but the effect didn't go past Solis' knee.

The last 6-7 years of Danny Williams has been beyond tragic.

The aftermath of the Eubank - Watson and Benn - Mclennan fights. These memories stuck with me through childhood right through to this very day of how tragic the sport can be when things go wrong.

the first time i tried to explain the workings of pro Boxing (like that there is no "world" title, how records are manipulated, how Rankings are often products of pure Fantasy etc) while at the same time trying to defend the Sport.
with the universal reaction being: "this is not a Sport" and "this should be outlawed". and at the same time realizing that they are Right!

Herol Graham becoming a serial loser time and time again after he was initially hyped up was sad.

Kim/Mancini. Don't need to go into detail about that fight.
