Don't discount the incompetence theory too early. There have been plenty of times when the name fighter got shafted. Pac vs Horn and Gonzalez vs Rungvisai 1 just last year. Pac vs Bradley 1, De La Hoya vs Mosley 2, etc.

The saddest thing was in the twentieth century when all the great amateur boxers in the Soviet Union were not allowed to turn pro by the left wing communists.

Neither was Joppy. He said he felt really bad about the whole affair.

The innocent murder victim whose sad story marred one of Roberto Duran’s finest performances. Billy Collins Jr.

Marvis Frazier in his fights against Holmes and Tyson. These fights epitomize the phrase “feed to the wolves.” It clearly couldn’t have been easy to be the boxing son of Joe Frazier.

Yes and in some cases it could be a bit of both ie Adelaide Byrd onto a good thing in a massive fight and as such All neutrality goes out the window, quite revealing seeing her walk round the ring looking at Canelo only,so bad was that score that you tend to think it had to be ineptitude.

Jeff Lacy at the conclusion of his fight with Calzaghe. Although gracious enough to do a postfight interview, it was painful to watch. You could just see the dejection dripping off him. Anyone who has been around for a while could see that Lacy would never be the same.

As a kid watching my favorite fighter, Alexis arguello, on the canvas a beaten man. It felt like my dad had just gotten beat down. I despised Pryor till I met him by chance.

@HerolGee trolling/minimizing every day all day non stop year in year out.. on every Calzaghe/Klitschko's/Golovkin thread. That's the saddest thing I've seen.
