It's a boring Sunday afternoon so I thought I'd post a what if scenario that's been on my mind for a while :

Post Tyson-Holyfield 1 and Lewis-McCall 2 let's imagine that the gods steered the HW division in a different direction to how things actually went down.

Tyson rather than going straight into a Holyfield rematch fights Michael Moorer for the IBF title and Holyfield has a unification fight with Lewis in the late spring/early summer of 1997 - How do you all see those 2 fights going and what happens in the division after those 2 fights ???

Holyfield win and a tyson win. That simple. Holyfield wins on points like he did in Holyfield Lewis 2 and Tyson kos Moorer early.

Holyfield got robbed in the rematch against Lewis because Lewis was robbed in the first fight.

Lewis beats Evander as he did in their 2 fights. Tyson KOs Moorer.

Same thing happens after, Lewis continues to domainate the divison and Bowe ducks him.

Holyfield and Tyson win. Lewis needed two gifts against a semi-shot Holyfield in 1999 and while Moorer had the ability to beat Tyson in the late 90's he was stubborn, so I could see him trading with Tyson and getting himself knocked out.

I scored the first fight 8-4 Lewis and the rematch 7-5 Holyfield. I watched both fights several times. Holyfield felt robbed in the rematch and Lewis was robbed in the first fight but Holyfield came out worst because he didn’t get the win against Lewis that he deserved. No way were the judges ever going to let Lewis lose the rematch after making such a mess of the first fight.
Holyfield vs should have been 1-1 overall and Holyfield was 38 at the time. About 5 years past prime

You had the first fight for Evander? Lewis won the first by a mile, the second fight was close the first was all Lennox.

Lewis won the second fight, no if's or but's.

    absolutely.

And he won the first bout by such a large margin it was not worthy of a rematch. Who is promoting and selling it? Those two are not signing contracts for chump change. I thought it was 11-1. And the round I gave Holyfield was debatable.

Interesting I wouldn't be surprised if Moorer beat that version of Tyson he wasn't hard to hit at that point so could go either way.I think Lewis beats Holy on points and stops Moorer.

Holyfield won and he won it well. Several years past his prime 88-93 against an atg Lewis in his prime 97-02.

    Here’s why.
Lewis was totally robbed in the first fight. It was a disgrace. 8-4 Lewis. Then the rematch happens and Holyfield needs to KO Lewis to win because of the disgrace from the first fight. Evander doesn’t get the KO but still wins enough rounds and should be 1-1 with Lennox. The first fight robbery worked against Evander.
Holyfield jabbed Lewis in the chest all night scoring all the time. Lewis was totally gassed out after 5 rounds came back for a late rally in the 10th and 11th. Holyfield nearly knocked him out in I think it was the 7th. Was Lewis glass chin he was ready to go but was saved by some good holding.

Yes, scoring the second fight for Holyfield is quite frankly, ridiculous. I don't think Holyfield "nearly knocked him out" either.
