i watched some of the gassiev fight again and as he pulled away on the cards he seemed to spend a little more time in range and got hit from time to time if he does this vs Joshua or or Wilder it could be his undoing. I'm guessing he felt Gassiev's punches and estimated that Gassiev couldnt knock him out with one blow and elected to put his punches together more
A very complete fighter !.possibly gets involved when he doesn't need to .Not a massive puncher .Not much really
In general terms, he doesn't really have any weaknesses. He utilises all his skills and strengths at an elite level. He can be hit though, unlike some of the really great guys of the last 10 years, which makes him beatable.
Well, lack of power sure ain't a strength! I get what you're saying. Moving up to the heavies, I feel, my turn him into a Mayweatheresque type fighter. You know before the fight begins, it's going the distance. No explosive or suprise finishes or first round konockouts. To real fans of the sport, it matters not one bit. I just want to see him run them big boys ragged for 12 long, frustrating rounds.
Relies on the right hand too much, sometimes he seems like a one handed fighter. Almost makes me think hes a converted southpaw or something.
In certain fights, he stays in the pocket for too long and allows himself to get tagged. The Breidis fight was really close and he took some bad shots from him. At HW, the size and power differential will mean he will be more cautious. So that weakness is less of an issue. In general he has all of the skills, its just sometimes his tactics are off and he has lapses in concentration.
