Holyfield and Tyson are in my opinion the greatest heavyweights of all time. Holyfields resume and head 2 head ability are incredible. His resume is simply the GOAT. Holyfield beat every fighter he ever faced in his prime 88-93. He also only lost to Bowe in the rubber match because he had hepatitis A and then he lost a seriously close fight against Moorer because his heart wasn’t working properly. The left valve wasn’t pumping blood and he could have died that night. He was air lifted to hospital. But a lot of people still had Evander winning the Moorer fight. What a warrior! Anyway he recovered and his career continued. He beat Moorer in the rematch by KO. Then let’s move on to the Lewis fights holyfields 3rd loss. The first fight was all Lewis and Lennox was robbed blind. I had it 8-4 Lewis. Bad night for Evander but remember he was past prime and fighting an all time great in Lewis who was in his prime years 97-02. But the same thing happened to Holyfield in the rematch but worse! Holyfield won quite clearly really. I had it 7-5 Holyfield. Holyfield jabbed Lewis in the cheat all fight. Lewis gassed half way through. But in all honesty Evander needed a KO that night because of what happened in the first fight because Lewis was robbed so badly. They should be 1-1. So at that point in the year 2000 Holyfield had beaten every man he had faced in the ring. He should have retired then really because his fights after that he was a shadow of prime Holyfield. He had massive stamina issues. Anyway that’s a better career than Muhammad Ali’s if you take into account all the massive gift decisions Ali had. Doug Jones, Liston 2 fix, Cooper 1 ripped glove, Frazier 2, norton 2, young, norton 3. All these fights could have gone against Ali but zero did and that was because the government disgracefully stripped Ali of his belts for 3 years so boxing felt the need to give Ali everything when he returned. Add a few more loses to Ali’s record and its all of a sudden quite average. Tyson was in his prime 86-89 was the head 2 head GOAT! Would have beaten anyone barring Holyfield on his best night. Mike was made a beat Ali and Holmes type fighters. And Lewis and foreman were too big and slow. They wouldn’t hit prime mike. Bowe is the one I favour over Tyson most. Tyson’s resume was great and he totally cleared out the division. His resume isn’t as good as holyfields or Ali’s but it’s better than most other greats. Nobody dominated like Tyson I’m his prime. Taking in head 2 head and his prime years I think he was better than Muhammad Ali. 1. Holyfield 2. Tyson. 3. Ali 4. Lewis 5. Foreman 6. Bowe 7. Frazier 8. Holmes 9. Wlad 10 Vitali A very good and clear top 10 1970-2018
Well for one Ali fought Doug Jones, Henry Cooper, and Sonny Liston before his layoff, so that doesn't make sense.
Yes it does. He only benefited once from a close decision before he was stripped. That was the jones fight. But the Liston rematch was a fix and the Cooper fight was cheating. He benefited from the close decisions after he was stripped. 1970 onwards. That makes perfect sence
It's intersting list but i think -unfortunately- the glass chinned Lewis and Ali maybe the slow Foreman were better than Tyson. And by my very humble opinion Holmes and Vitali (hard to say) were better than Bowe or Frazier. Of course Vitali was better than Wladimir K. (Vitali never lost to a bum like Puritty.)
