Yep, thats one of the main problems right there, America is too expensive. Wilder and Fury have worked hard to drum up interest in this fight, Wilder doesnt sell many tickets and has never been on PPV, Fury is even less popular in the States so what do they do? They charge Floyd prices, They have gathered some interest and then gone and put those interested parties straight off again with crazy prices.

Watching Joshua fights i love the size of the crowd, it all helps make it all feel like a mega event, gets everybody talking but he could quadruple the prices of everything and make the same money selling a quarter of the tickets and it wouldnt look anywhere near as impressive. Joshua and Hearn are clearly getting it right and clearly Finkel and Wilder are doing something wrong.

    lol this is pure gold

to be honest, the english love a good booze up and fight. christmas 3 days later. whyte and chisora being a solid fight. what more can we ask for as englishmen.

i was very surpirse that wilder and fury were in LA.
I was in LA last week on my holiday/vacation and a guy stopped me in the supermarket because i had a TMT cap on (sorry lol) and he said "i never see anyone in LA wearing boxing stuff and i dont have anyone who enjoys it,so i had to stop to talk to you"
we chatted about the jacobs fight as it was that night. so it is a very strange venue. Typically wilder lol.

Im sure we will see some of these on stub hub tho

Massive difference noone can argue otherwise but it's still probably a more evenly matched fight

Holding the fight is LA is just a stupid promotional move. . . .If their names were Torres vs Ibanez at 118 lbs. then it would sell. . . . .Secondly, the live gate does not matter as much as the world wide television revenues.

Is it fair to compare sales? One has 2 fighters with a history of brutality, the other has 2 mental personalities lmao. I will watch both tho ha

The little Wilder fans who were adamant this Fury fight would be massive have gone really really really quiet.

It's almost like after all their claims, boasts and predictions they are ignoring the fact this isn't going very well.

I bet they went in to meltdown when they saw the DAZN link/advertisement on this website

It's where the money is if you fit the right demographic. Mayweather may very well be the last black American boxer who is a PPV star. You likely won't see another big US heavyweight PPV star unless they are from Mexican descent.

Maybe I'm wrong and someone special can emerge like Tyson who looked the part, KO's everyone is brutal fashion and captures the US imagination but with the lack of funding in amateur boxing in the US I doubt it happens, as all the really talented guys will move to other sports and you'll be left with guys like Wilder, Breazeale, Miller, Martin, Washington and Jennings who all didn't start boxing until failing to make it in other sports and only started boxing in their 20's.
