    I did not know that, actually. Why would I know that? It can't be near as common as you're claiming as I've watched plenty of British boxing in my day and wasn't aware that was a thing.

    I associate it with Boston sports because that song has been coopted by the stupid Red Sox fanbase for the last 15-20 years. Probably long before British boxing shows started using it, whenever that may have been.
