This should be the next big fight to happen. But we all know Andre no passport exclusive to Oakland Ward wouldn't have the balls to dare to be great and take the challenge like Bellew did. Ward isn't cut from the same cloth as Usyk.

Do some research! Only 8 of Wards fights were in Oakland! All have been in the US. Calzaghe, Hatton, Froch, AJ, Brook all have had most of their pro fights at home or in the same country. No big deal really!

all of his fights have been in the USA - exactly my point!

Calzaghe fought in USA and Germany, Hatton fought in USA loads of times, Froch fought in USA, Denmark, Finland. Brook fought in USA. Yet Andre Ward only fought in USA!! ZERO foreign fights, he wanted home comforts every single time!

Ward ran off into retirement the second light heavy got stronger. If he didn't want that Bivol, Beterbiev,Gvizdyk smoke then he sure as hell don't want the cruiser Usyk smoke.

I think Ward would be very competitive he isn't some mug, he's an elite boxer, but this is too big an ask. Usyk is better than Kovalev, bigger, more disciplined, moves better, tighter guard, better counter puncher, Ward loses a decision in a competitive fight.

I bet Ward was watching that very keenly last night. Bellew floated him as a suitable final opponent a few months ago, that wasn't a random suggestion. I think if the money / demand had been right that's the fight we'd have watched last night. I think he'd probably still have had too much for Bellew but it would've been a much closer thing given his inactivity / sage of career etc.

As it is I don't think Usyk will or should wait around any longer at cruiser. If he's moving up, better to do so now before mandatories become due and to give him as much time to acclimatise ahead of the biggest challenges. Besides, the whole reason these events were happening was UK PPV money and that wouldn't be magically available to Ward Usyk without Bellew's involvement.

After seeing how comfortable Ward was at Lightheavy i can see Ward being able to move up one more but he would be stretching it a little at Cruiser and Uysk is the best of them. Ive gone for Uysk by points cuz Wards a very smart and awkward fighter but a KO could happen, but i just dont see any way Ward beats Uysk, he could give a few Cruisers some real work but not that one. Not the ones that will know the advantages they have and are clever enough to make full use of them.
