Fight seems pretty easy work for Canelo. Is there any logical way of Fielding winning this?

Or just a cash out to kickstart Canelo on DAZN?

Win situation for both. Fielding has already been destroyed by Smith. He'll make more fighting against Canelo than his whole career combined. I wouldn't say it's Hearn "cashing" out Fielding, but Fielding cashing out himself.

Rocky is 31 years old, he isn't earning huge money, so what does Hearn do with him now he has the regular title?

Challenge Callum Smith again? He was blown out in a round last time, its a difficult sell because it doesn't look remotely competitive and he'll likely get ruined again and the money wouldnt be amazing.

Or Rocky could defend his title against the likes of John Ryder? Eubank Jr? DeGale? Maybe even tempt Groves.. you know what I mean, somebody like that in a domestic fight and although they would be interesting fights they are not big money fights.

They would be on the undercard of something, Brook Vs Khan, Joshua Vs Whyte, that sort of card, it wouldn't headline.

So Canelo/Oscar offer Rocky a huge payday (huge compared to what he has been earning and what he could earn) and a chance, albeit very slim to nonexistent, of causing a monster upset in a high profile fight.

As a promoter Hearn has done Rocky a huge favour, allowed him to earn some really good money and share a ring with a top fighter in a very high profile fight.

Hearn makes his fighters as much money as they possibly can especially at Fieldings age and stage of career, and Hearn does his job very well.

In my opinion Rocky and Hearn are selling his belt but what else can they do?

It's difficult to move Rocky forward and for him to earn serious money so they have took a high risk high reward fight instead of a high risk low reward fight.

Great business move, and afterwards Fielding will get a chance at a Ryder or somebody of that level and maybe he can go again.

If he didn't take the Canelo fight and decided to defend the title and lost to a Ryder, Eubank Jr, DeGale, Groves or somebody like that at this stage his career is pretty much over without that one big payday.

Lets put it this way. If I was too offer you 7 times more than you have ever earned for any of your previous jobs, and this would set you up for the rest of your life.

Would you say no or would you say yes.

    Thats regardless of the profession.

Boxing is about getting paid, not hanging onto a belt made out of plastic, metal and leather.

Seems like a nice deal for all involved. Gets Canelo out for a second time in what seems a low risk fight with a fake title on the line.

Fielding gets a fight with the cash cow and a big payday, loss would really harm him that much in his standings.

    DAZN get a Canelo Kickstarter.

Not one reason for Fielding not to take it. Gets to share the ring with Canelo for great money. Its the kind of fight every fighter dreams of when starting out !

Hearn cannot win can he?

Arranges domestic 12 rounds wars...."Not a lot of skill".
Arranges the best HW of the current era against the past era...."Only fights old opponents".
Gets fights for his lesser skilled fighters against P4P stars for career high paydays...."Cashing his fighters out".
Gets fights for his P4P stars against lesser skilled fighters...."Only arranges mismatches".
Talks about the unified HW champ against the undisputed CW champ...."HW v CW mismatch".

There's no better promoter for a fighter right now than Hearn.

Ask Bellew.....Or even Jarrell Miller, who says he's the only promoter never to rip him off and offer false promises.

He got Fielding the opportunity of a lifetime, what's wrong with that?

Too often it is claimed that Matchroom protects their fighters, but when big fights get made, it's Matchroom throwing their guys under the bus...

Hearns doing his job. I dont hear Fielding complaining about it, a chance to face and beat Canelo, guna be paid well for it too. You gotta be in it to win it.

Fielding is going to get paid lots to lose. I'd say so.

Surely he's being paid seven figures here? That's money he's never seen and never will see again. Life changing money. What's the argument against? Surely the end goal of any boxing career, first and foremost, is to retire comfortable.
