sometimes the speed thing gets overplayed. I remember people saying Haye (who was faster than usyk) would be like the matrix against heavyweights then he faced klitschko and his speed was nowhere to be seen. also against Joyce in the amateurs he looked a lot less light on his feet and shipped a fair number of shots from Joyce, but thankfully Joyce is a slow as molasses accumilation puncher and it was only 5 rounds
I agree and disagree (and i know you hate him so i don't expect serious response) I think he's lost confidence in his attacks, he could have taken Parker out, and put povetkin in his place earlier imo But he's improved in his reading of a fight and ability to make adjustments. He 100% switched up tactics against Povetkin which is something a "stiff idiot" wouldn't have been able to do, and he totally shut povetkin down. I think in certain fights his new approach will make him look lesser than when he was more of a fast starter, but in fights against good opponents it's going to stand him in good stead.
I hate Tony Dosh PPV but no problems with him as a fighter. Since Wlad he has faced Paint Dry Parker, Tedious Takam and Past It PED Povetkin and really did not impress much until the PED KO
Can't wait for him vs the winner of Dull Boy Pakora vs Dullian Shyte after that they may well match him vs Monotonous Miller or Ponderous Poolev
nope, his size is fine, MIGHT be too small for AJ and Fury, but the rest of them, he would beat pretty comfortably i think
As for Usyk I think people underestimate his level of skill. Not saying that he guarantee beats Dosh and a fit Fury but he looks to me able to dominate both with his level of skill. Even Fury for me is a less skillful fighter. Will see as his road map to a belt will obviously change by the time he starts out.
Aj didn't want to open up against Parke due to the speed of Parkers hands. The one time it did open up on the ropes he got clipped and while never in trouble he certainly felt it. Speed and movement is AJ Achilles heel. Usyk is fast but his defense will need to be tighter at heavy - his extra mobility may help in this regard. It will be interesting to see. Holyfield had some success at heavy. He got a win v Bowe. Should have gotten the nod over Valuev when well past his prime. I suppose the big 3 at heavy are now all supers and that might count against Usyk chances but all 3 are vulnerable. Wilder isn't a good technical fighter and has been close to being stopped or at least KD'd in 4 of of his last 7 fights against various opposition none. AJ is a bit stiff and movement has given him some problems so far. He's played it very safe against Parker - nothing wrong with that but it was a big change from what we have seen. Fury is an unknown at this point but potentially his best days are gone, if he loses against Wilder I wonder if he fight again unless its a rematch. Plus how many lefties do the heavyweights face? I think Usyk will grab a belt at some point I'm not sure who from maybe if one becomes vacant somehow. He's a top tier fighter and I think he can carry a bit more weight. His am record is excellent so he knows what he's doing in there. If Adamek can have some type of success at heavy - then i'd expect Usyk to
